If they hate America, why don't they find a better place to live? And it isn't just hatred for President Bush, this anti-American attitude has been around long before Bush. What do they want America to be?

Superdaringhero: I wouldn't deny them the right to say their mind; I do, however, think there are consequences for what they say. If they really mean what they say, why not do something about it? Since the majority of Americans love America despite its faults, then why not leave it and find a "better" place to live? Hmmmm?

Basic American principal is the freedom of speech. It is also written in the consitution as citizens it is our right and our obligation to keep our government in check. When we do not feel our government is making the right decisions, and is not treating us right, it is our America-given right to voice our opinions and strive for change. Blind patriotism is dangerous, and ignorant.

I am. People who store ammunitions and weapons in ordinary people's houses, hide among and behind the civilian population are the evil cowards.
I have a problem with your "why don't they find a better place to live" part of the question. There is no better place to live when you already live in America. They don't want to give up the luxury of living in a modern country.
You're right Bush is a separate problem altogether, and the dislike for him runs deep in both mainstream political parties.
The anti-American attitude has been around at least since England's King George was abusing us back at the start of our History.
They want America to be an Islamic State.

Sounds like someone doesnt like living in a country with free speech.....................
Thats the great thing about America if you don't like it you can say so...........if you would like to live in a place where everyone thinks the same and NO ONE can speak against the government try Nazi Germany........maybe you would like it......Free Speech hater.......the anti-american is you
The majority of America didn't want blacks and whites to go to school together or marry each other in the 50's.........I guess we should have followed the majority on that one too huh? Since the majority of Americans wanted it that way.......think......
And if there are consequences for what you say then we have no free speech and we have no America

Hold on, now. If they do hate America, then they should leave.
If they hate the American government, then they should try to change it.
You see the difference? I hate this attitude lately that "patriotism" is supposed to mean "blind faith and support of the government". Patriotism should be based on what the country was founded on, and in America, that's the Bill of Rights. I love the bill of rights, and feel as though, for that reason, I love America. I hate our government, though, because they constantly try to take away our rights and freedoms and push us closer to socialism.
So, what is America, Wise Vibes? What is there to hate? The landscape? The government? The people in it? Be more specific. "America is evil" is so vague, it could mean 100 different things.

I am. Not only are "Americans" born here say they are sick, but also people immigrating from other countries. From my personal experience I've heard people coming from other places of the world saying how much this country sucks. The thing that I hate the most is seeing how well they are living, they have a great house, a car, an education, etc. and yet they still think this country is evil, unfair, etc.

Lliberals do not think America is evil, per se. They think we can do better. What is un-American about that? The right to free speech, lobbying congress and protesting in a civil manner is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
Our nation was built by people of conviction (dissidents) who loved their nation and had the guts to stand up and fight for what they believed in. They even gave their descendants the right to do the same!
IMHO, it would be un-American NOT to dissent if one feels strongly about an issue. Leaving the nation I love would be out of the question..

I am sick of those people who feel they are the only ones who have the right to consider themselves "Americans" because of a love it or leave it mentality. The writiers of the Declaration of Independence did't love America as it was and so they were willing to write down what they thought it should be and fight to defend that belief. The Civil War was fought because Amercians didn't like the America they knew and were willing to fight to change it. That having been said, hopefully in this day and time those of us who don't live in lala land and think there are things going on in this country that need to be changed don't have to fight for those changes as our ancestors did NOR DO WE HAVE TO LEAVE! All we have to do is spread the word and vote on election day. A good American is one who is able to see the best of what this nation has to offer while not being blind to its weaknesses and doing what they can to effect change. All is not good on the domestic scene, and even worse internationally. I'm tired of our being seen as the overpowering ogres trying to force our politics on other nations. You know, you'd think that if others saw what we had as being so darn good, we wouldn't have to go into their countries and force it on them. Let them fight their own revolutionary wars and civil wars. But love it or leave it - MAKE ME! You can't because I AM AN AMERICAN AND PROUD OF IT!

Me very much! I'm sick and tired of everyone complaining. Actions speak louder than words. Picketing gets a spot on the news. A peaceful, strategic plan for action gets things done (MLK?).
Sidenote: However, one cannot consider themselves an advocate for free speech if it only includes speech they like hearing.
