can anyone tell me some imformation about adopting? i have went to lots of websites and did my research, but i would like to hear about real experiences and hear real opions.

I am a birthmother.
I placed my son for adoption at birth, by choice when I was 19. I was too young and ill-prepared for a child. I picked out his parents- (they made a photo album about their lives- and wrote about themselves in the album) I had about ten couples to choose from! I met my son's parents while I was pregnant...went to their house to get to know them. They were in the hospital room when he was born. It was a wonderful, loving experience for them and me.
He is turning eight this year. I keep in touch with him and his family- I visit once a year for Christmas. He knows that he was adopted, and that I am his birthmother. I am always there to answer questions about medical concerns...etc
I highly recommend open adoption- my birthson is much better off for it. There is no confusion as to where he comes from. I love him dearly and wanted nothing but the best for him. He has such a good life and I do not regret my decision at all.
