Well it's a peninsula (surrounded by water on 3 sides). *shrug* So I suppose since there's 3 ways to invade India by water it would be beneficial for them to have a strong navel force.
I really don't know....just a logical guess....so don't quote me 'K
I wasn't aware that India had a strong naval force, though. Hmmmm......well nonetheless if they don't they should.

Well, having a lot of water around you to work with helps a lot.
They have easy water access to other areas of the globe via that whole ocean thing.
