The kids haven't been behaving all day and nothing is working. They don't listen, they keep getting into trouble.. and everytime you turn around.. they're into something else. You're going to pull your hair out...

Oh, and by the way, they're 4 and 1.. and you're the only one home in a new neighborhood where there's no one you know, your spouse is at work and it's raining...

What do you do to keep yourself from going crazy ??

They're normally perfect little angels.. and they have a very structured day.. they're just boycotting today for some reason.

If they don't nap at least make them "rest" in their rooms. Make sure their room is safe then close the door and tell them it is rest time. Then go in the other room and find something you like to do and do it. If they cry just let them cry if they leave the room just take them back tell themrest time and close the door.

Sometimes kids are just carzy because they need a structed activity for them. Maybe all sit down and paint or read or make a special treat/picture/whetever to give daddy when he gets home.

Build a fort under the kitchen table or somewhere like that, get flashlights and let them take some toys under there.

I have a 2 and 5 year old boys who get crazy quite often...just take a breath and go with the flow sometimes they just gotta be crazy (but don't allow bad). Good luck! and hang in there!

Take a deep breath, count dwon from 10 to 1, and tell the lieel monsters (that's what I call mine when he acts up...LOL) that if they don't calm down, they aren't going to watch TV, fingerpaint, etc.....and then plop in a movie that everyone likes, and relax....It works sometimes! Good Luck!!!

I truly believe in bribes - with kids. I'm not kidding - sometimes you HAVE to have the peace. I had my son's picture taken when he was about 2 -- we stood in the longest line - he was crying and just as sad of a face you could have on picture day. I started to bribe him - he stopped crying - the photographer said "lady, you should NEVER bribe your kid"---- I asked him if HE had kids and he said "no." All of us moms looked at each other and smiled.

Ok I have a 3 yr. old and 1 yr. old, and it is raining as well, I just laid down my 1 yr. old for a nap, and I put my 3 yr olds favorite cartoon on whooo! Im exhausted. While my 3 yr old watches t.v. quietly I lay down right next to her and take a little nap!

lock yourself in the bathroom! just kidding. take a deep breath. remember that they are your kids and you love them. try movies, try bribing them to be good, try whatever. i know the kind of day you are having. my suggestion try everything you know how to to get them to be quiet and sit down for 3 minutes so you can enjoy the sound of nothing!
