Look, I have been taught that you don't pass a computer through Xray scanning because it fries the hard drive. last time I went through security, I handed them my laptop. An Xbox is essentially a computer as it has a hard drive. So, I would venture to guess. . . You can always FAQ Xbox online.

The xray machine would not cause a problem. However, the power supply very well could be the problem. If you bought a plug converter, but did not buy a transformer as well, the power could have fried the Xbox. I learned this a few years ago on a trip to Ireland when I only thought that I would need a plug converter & fried a hairdryer & melted a curling iron my first morning there.

x-ray scanners used at airport security will not damage a computer, X box, laptop or any other consumer electronic device. The only issue is with unprocessed photographic film.
an X box purchased in Ireland will require a different power supply to work in the USA due to different voltage also re is a difference in the TV standards between Ireland and USA so hooking it up to a TV will be a problem.

I believe they use a different wattage or voltage of power over there. That could be the problem. I wouldn't expect Xrays to do anything. Xrays are rays of light (more or less...) and the Xbox shouldnt have any photosensitive parts.

I doubt it was the x-rays. Travelers pass laptop computers through x-ray machines all the time and nothing happens. So I doubt it'd have any effect on an Xbox.

passing it through X-ray doesnt matter. I have bought my XBOX 360 from somewhere and carried it in luggage. Its working fine. Hope he must have packed it properly.

No, the power is not high enough to do anything other than to scan through objects.
