This is a very low number, statistically, compared to other wars. It's been over 3 years. It could have been more. Be thankful more haven't died.

Remember, those who join the military did so knowing they had the chance of going to war and dying in a war.

According to www.helpnetwork.org, there were 28,663 gun-related deaths in the United States in the year 2000 alone.

Just be glad there are people who are proud to serve in the US military and that we have not been taken over by Islamic Extremeists, communists, or even the Third Reich back in the 40's.

Well, 2566 military men have been killed in 4 years of war, during that same 4 years in the US we have murdered 51,836 people according to FBI & crime statistics. I think our 136,000 soldiers are safer in Iraq. Maybe President Bush does have a plan, keep our brightest & bravest men & women free from the streets of America. By the way the mayors & govenors are responsible for controlling the murders not the president. Don't even go there, the president is not responsible for your crab grass either.

Here is my answer to you, who are so worried about numbers. 407,300 - that is the number of our military that were killed in 4 years in WWII. 54,236 - that is the number killed in four years in the Korean War. 53,239 - that is the number killed in action in Vietnam. 2,976 - that is the number of people who died in ONE DAY on 9/11. 17 - that is the number of casualties it took for President Clinton to pull our troops out of Mogadishu when faced with the same enemy tactics, weapons, and propaganda - ENSURING we would be fighting the same battle again with the same type of people using the same tactics at a different time and place.
You don't reward the use of terror tactics by giving them what they want. We can argue all day about the reasons our soldiers are there - but the bottom line is they ARE there, and they have a job to finish.
Instead of asking when - why don't you get off your a$$ and help them hurry up and finish the job. All branches of the service are taking new recruits.
