All he does is lay there and he is getting very smelly. What do I do?

You need to keep your dog clean - give him a bath at least once a week. No dog likes to be dirty and it is your job to keep him clean. The flies should not be on him, that is disgusting. He should not be left outside alone, dogs need to be inside with their family. If he is not moving, there is something wrong either physically or emotionally, and he should be examined by a vet asap. It sounds that this dog is being neglected and is suffering.

Sorry to ask but, is he alive?
if so he needs a good bath and a cool place to lay. The flys are bad news. after a few days they will begin to eat away at his skin and he will bleed and get very naste, he could get magets.
give him a bath
pick off all the scabs, if he has any yet
go to a pet shop ( a big one like petsmart, petco)
and get a fly repellent medicine, in the cream form)
put that on is raw skin.
the flies eating the skin is called "fly strick"

I suggest you have him put down. That happened to our dog, and it turned out the flies laid eggs on her and she was full of maggots. I would have never put her through that pain if I had know better.

How long did this go on before you finally noticed?

put it down. after a dog dosent do anything eithr its lazy or dying and it sounds like its diing

call a vet and get him to a animal hospitial sounds like something is really wrong and its cruel for him to suffer.

UMMMMM....... were to start he is sadly dead. If he doesnt move and doesnt eat then your dog as passed I am sorry for lost.
