they are probably gold plated....the nikel in earings is what people usually are allergic too...you need to make sure that when you buy jewelry that it is ss or 14k, make sure it is not gold plated...then you should not have a problem.

coz the metal item does not sout u skin .. u skin is very much sensative. for few days dont wear any thing go to the doctor skin specialist. Use little dabs of perioxide until they heal up.
According to the dermatologist I went to, piercing with the needle released an enzyme into my system that keeps me allergic to nickel. If they had been pierced with a gold needle this wouldn't have happened. There's no way to take it back once it's done. Just make sure she always wears good gold or nickel free

They may be gold plated rather then pure gold in which case the metal underneath the gold has started to irritate you. I have the same problem but only on one finger, my wedding finger. I can no longer wear rings there. Take them out for several days and let them heal, then try getting those hypollergenic ear rings.

If the 'gold' earrings are less than 18 carat gold, say 9 carat, it means that you have other metals in the mixture, 15 parts against 9 for instance. Silver is a possibility, or some other metal to which you have an allergic reaction...............

Most likely, some sort of allergy is developing. Or, you have something on the earring. Have you cleaned your pierced earring lately? A dose of hydrogen peroxide helps a bit.
Try some non allergy producing metals, Titanium, or even stainless steel.

Sounds like you have an allergy to nickle. Problem is you dont know how much nickle is in any one piece of jewellry.
There is a product you can buy that coats jewellry to stop the reaction. The last time I saw it on sale it was with the Oriflame cosmetic company.
Try and see if you can still buy it cos it really should help

Make sure the earrings are pure gold. They may also require cleaning. Just take some rubbing alcohol to it. You may also want to clean your ear with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol.

Is the gold 14 carat?

If not it could have nickel in it and that can cause the irritation.

I cannot waer earrings unless they are sterling silver or 14 carat gold.

You may need to upgrade the gold to a higher karat.
Or, you may need to go to something hypo-allergenic.
Make sure too, that not only are your posts clean, but the taps that lock them in place.
