I believe in God:
(1) Because there is something rather than nothing.
(2) Because that something exhibits an unfathomably rich and intricate order and beauty.
(3) Because human persons exist, and in their interiority are conscious of themselves as the bearers of freedom.
(4) Because in the communion of love I know other human persons as infinitely valuable and incommensurate with the entire world.
(5) Because my conscience accuses me or commends me independently of all social and cultural influences.
(6) Because I trust the perennial witness of the greatest human souls throughout history that the reductionism and nihilism of contemporay unbelief is an absurd aberration.
(7) Because my love for other human beings is an existential testimony to their immortality, and their groundedness in an everlasting, loving, conscious, purposive reality.

It's kinda like this. Whenever people have a dispute, they appeal to what's RIGHT as the final answer. People may not agree on what's right, but they all seem to assume that there IS a right. Even people who think that ethics are based on biology and conditioning, think they are Right. The fact that everybody seems to recognize that there is a Right, and that it is more important than "what I want," shows that there is something beyond us. You could call it supernatural. I don't call spooky stuff supernatural, but I call ethics supernatural, because they are beyond nature. If something is beyond nature, what is It?
Then you could ask where does Nature come from? Is it uncreated? If so, then Nature is God, because God is the self-existent being. But if something is beyond Nature, then Nature isn't God. Nature must have a creator. That creator apparently has ethics. Well, that's all I have time for now.

I believe in God due to many different factors. The foundation of my belief is built upon what I grew up in -- the Catholic church's teachings, like you. My faith grew out of love, and that is another reason why I hold tightly to it -- I have known no strife beneath my faith.
But why I believe that there is a Higher Intelligence still? Even after I've grown up and met so many people who hold so many different understandings of the world? Well, it's mainly due to me questioning my own faith, repeatedly. I have spent over 12 years in Catholic education, and have grown in my faith because I challenge different concepts. For a while I had trouble understanding whether or not there even *was* a God, and I felt horrible for thinking something like that. But it helped me come to a better understanding of such a concept, and to this day I still believe in God, because my own logic supports the idea so well.
I firmly hold my belief in God because I constantly strive to answer all the questions that pop up in my faith -- sometimes I am in doubt about certain aspects of the teachings I've learned, but by being willing to search for the answer, I have strengthened my own faith.

i believe in God for quite a lot of reaons. you've got to work it out yourself though - not just cause your parents told you.
1. reason - ok, so if God's not in the sunset and it's just a bunch of chemicals then why does it make me feel so good? and roses unfurling - great science - but why do i find them so incredible and beautiful? i think the when God made us 'in His image' that meant we could share His emotions for stuff. Similarly I think that's where we get our senses of Justice and Love and Sorrow. I don't think these are just survival instincts.
2. bible - i believe the bible is a historical document and that God has spoken though it to me personally.
3. experience - i believe that only God can truly heal someone physically/spritually/emotionally. Only God can change someone's heart and character - and He does this all the time.
4. i feel it. i know feelings are overated and fragile and you can't rely on this alone but i sense his presence with me, sometimes more than others. He's put a joy in my heart, sometimes i might burst! other times he's made me see how his heart breaks for my sin, how i hurt him...
5. i've seen him in other people's lives. some christians are so full of jesus that they almost glow...! my pal Linda's like that. She's amazing, and so humble.

No matter what anyone says, everyone believes in God, they just choose not too. I will get flack for this, but it is the truth.
Read Romans 1: 18-20. Just because we choose not to believe in something, doesn't mean it isn't true.
God and sin are two words that most people do not like to hear. And for obvious reasons. Take care.

The evidence of God is all around us, how can a person not? I believe in God because I believe he sent His son to die on the cross for my sins and raised him 3 days later. I believe I'm on my way to heaven because I've accepted Jesus Christ, and anyone can do that. Romans 10:9 & 10

Because It's the only plausible explaination for our existance. When something as simple as a leaf on a tree, or a hair on your head is so complex as to render duplication impossible (without manipulation of already existing DNA), it just makes sense.
Throughout thousands of years of recorded history, mankind has failed to truly create anything. We manipulate what we have, but we don't create it. So where did it all come from?
Some say that its all an accident of nature over millions, or even trillions of years. But we know from observation that without intervention, everything in nature shifts from order to chaos, and not the other way around.
Even the most plausible theorys of evolution fail to explain the very start of things. Matter had to come from somewhere, and the "Big Bang" theory requires a catalyst.
It is far easier to believe in God than to doubt him. His signature is all around us.

No one dared so far to claim creating, or being able to create, any single thing, even a hair!! The Creator and The Sustainer of all these Creatures is One only; if there were more than one there would have been confusion in the heavens and the earth! That One is Allah (the only true God).
Can we find an explanation of the great universe? Is there any convincing interpretation of the secret of existence? We realize that no family can function properly without a responsible head, that no city can prosperously exist without sound administration, and that no state can survive without a leader of some kind. We also realize that nothing comes into being on its own. Moreover, we observe that the universe exists and functions in the most orderly manner, and that it has survived for hundreds of thousands of years. Can we, then, say that all this is accidental and haphazard? Can we attribute the existence of man and the whole world to mere chance.
In the world then there must be a Great Force in action to keep everything in order. In the beautiful nature there must be a Great Creator who creates the most charming pieces of art and produces everything for a special purpose in life. The deeply enlightened people recognize this creator and call him Allah 'God'. He is not human because no human can create or make another human. He is not an animal nor is He a plant. He is neither an idol nor is He a statue of any kind because none of these things can make itself or create anything else. He is different from all of these things, because He is the maker and keeper of them all. The maker of anything must be different from and greater than the things which he makes.
Imagine yourself in an aeroplane and you know it is
going to crash...
Who do you turn to for help then ?
Or on a ship in the sea, thrown helplessly up and down
by towering waves ...
There will have been a situation at one time or the
other in your life when you called upon your Creator
alone, forgetting everyone and everything else,
hoping, trusting, wishing that the Being you know in
your heart and soul that has power and control over all
things would help you. The only One you know can
save you!
Scientists, even though they are able to reproduce human and animal life through artificial processes like in-vitro fertilization and cloning, cannot accomplish these feats without the basic elements of human life that consist of genes and cells and other organic properties. Scientists are not able to create these things. Even the processes that are used by scientists to accomplish various procedures originated from a source whose intellect was obviously far greater than those who seek to discover and imitate the creative processes.
There are various ways to know God "Allah", and there are many things to tell about Him. The great wonders and impressive marvels of the world are like open books in which we can read about Allah. Besides, Allah Himself comes to our aid through the many messengers and revelations He has sent down to man. These messengers and revelations tell us about everything we need to know about Allah.

Yes i do believe in God he is the only one who can deliver us and help us without him in our lives, life becomes less fruitful, but i think you need to realize that you cant say you believe in God because your parents told you to, because you are just following instructions, and your heart is not really accepting him for you, what use is that?.

You should be grateful to your parents for teaching you the truth.
I know God lives because I'm alive. I had a serious accident and really have no business being alive today. But I am. I thank God every day for my life. I have had some experiences too sacred to tell you about, but I know that God lives. I know it.
