Don't forget the faulty translations to alter meanings, as well.

First, let us let the Bible speak for itself:
-"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV) The Bible isn't a man-made book, or a book of history, or a book of commentary; it is GOD-BREATHED.
Ok, well, most likely, if you're a non-Christian that won't matter to you anyway. It's like, "Well good for you, your Bible says that its true." That's like me saying, "I'm Gandhi!" I believe it, I said it, but you won't.
Q: Don't you know that the Bible is man-made? Man, fallible people, they get things wrong all the time!
-"The Bible is the most unique book that has ever been written." It took over 1500 years to write the Bible. It is written by over 40 authors covering 40 generations. It was written on 3 separate continents, and has three separate languages: Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. Furthermore, it speaks on hundreds of controversial topics with unity. Now, let us think about this. Over 40 different people from all walks of life: peasants, prophets, kings, shepherds, fisherman, doctors. They are writing different styles of literature: poetry, history, law, letters, biographies. Totally different types of literature. When you put it all together, on those hundreds of controversial topics, the Bible speaks in unity. How in the world could you ever do that? How could you concoct that? You can’t, but God can!
Q: Don’t you know it is just stories? You really think all that historical events in the Bible are true?
-People have been using the Bible as an archeological source book for years. People said King David never existed, that he was a fairy tale like Robin Hood because the Jews needed someone to write stories about. Well, back in 1993 a couple of things were found talking about the House of David, and they weren’t even Jewish! They were Aramaian and Moabite! Things are being found all the time attesting to what happened in the Bible!
Q: What about all those miracles?
-Well, let us take a look at Jericho. How Joshua’s battle plan, told by God, was to march around the city seven times and then yell at it. God also told them not to take anything from the city, but to burn it all as an offering to the Lord, and that no one would ever live there ever again. So they went through with the battle plan, and the walls fell outward. Well, they found the real city of Jericho recently, and they found that the walls of Jericho had indeed fallen outward. When you attack a city, the walls fall inward, don’t they? Hmm…Furthermore, they found the residue of burnt grain in all of the grain stocks. Whoever took Jericho, didn’t take the food, they burnt it all. AND, no one built there again. They built a new city about 10 miles away. Everything about that story was proved true!
Based on this information, we can say that yes, we can trust what is written in the Bible. And to those who say that the people who wrote about Jesus lied, people don't die for lies. If you had a choice between death or telling the truth, no one would choose death.

well yes human beings are fallable and do have those bad qualities...but they also have good qualities. how do we decipher what is *good* vs what is *bad*? i think we all have an innate sense of what is right and wrong, regardless of how u've been brought up or what u've been taught. obviously if u hit someone, it hurts; if they hit u it hurts. therefore, if u hit someone, u are causing damage and it is something *bad*. if you smile, laugh, or make someone feel good, u are doing something *good*. therefore, if u read something, anything whether it's the bible or anything, you have to use ur mind to filter thru all the negativity and glean the positives to make yourself a better person each day. no one can do that for you, no one can tell u what to do (they try, by writing books to *help* people)...but in the end it is only you and what you believe that will help you decipher what is true, and what is false. keep learning, studying, and opening your heart and mind to what is good, and you will have peace knowing that you have faith in something that is *good*.

that's a question u need to answer yourself. If you read the bible in its entirety you will realize that for one god created man and women and that no one is perfect everyone makes mistakes and all will be forgiven if you ask for forgiveness. God doesn't keep notes of all you have done wrong or wrong that has been done to u. God is forgiving for everyone and everywere. Freedom of religion is a great right to have please use it to your advantage.
GOOD LUCK
