I've also heard that catholics believe that the only book that can be stacked on top of the Bible is another Bible. A nun told me these things.

Some Catholics may do these things, but not all of us do.

Neither of these two things are required of Catholics; the nun was probably just giving her own opinion on them. I'm sure it was just her way of impressing upon you the fact that God's Word should be treated with more care and respect than other books.

I was never told that and I am a Catholic but I teach my sons to respect all books. The Bible however is special and I have taught my sons to treat it as such. If you believe it is the "Word of God" then you would never purposely mistreat it. An accident is an accident.

I have never heard of these things either. They are not common Catholic beliefs.

Although they do show great love and respect for the Living Word of God.

With love in Christ.
