No. I don't think any religion has gotten it right. Then again, how am I supposed to know? Maybe we're all wrong. Wouldn't it mess everyone up if we found out that the Muslims were right all along and the killing of innocent humans was justified? Don't get me wrong, I don't want that either...but what happens if it is true? Our whole world would be turned upside down. But we can never be sure which one is the right church. It is called "faith." You may notice also that if you ask a question like this one, a lot of Christians try and prove that Christianity is the right choice by quoting Bible verses. This does nothing because if Christianity is later proven not to be the right choice, the Bible means squat. Nothing can be proven by quoting the Bible except for God loves all His children. Even this, we find ourselves questioning at times.

No. I am always suspect of any church, or denomination, that claims to be the "only right one". My advice to anyone who is faced with a church making that claim is to turn around quickly, and run as fast as you can away from them!

That being said, I do believe there are churches that teach the bible as God's inspired word...and those who do not. I would encourage a person to find the former.

No Way.

The twelve Apostles when following Jesus made mistakes and founded the Church of Jerusalem which still did not keep them from separating into sects.

The church universal will always be as diverse as humanity and each sect will have human error as a component. I believe it is God's hope that through organizations like the World Council of Churches that each sect can learn from each other but perfection is only achieved in heaven.

Dear Donna C,

Your question appears to be very straight forward, but spiritually, it is not. Most people believe the church is a group of people holding the same beliefs that congregate to worship and be discipled. That is the external or congregation and there are a variety of different denominations-baptist, methodist, episcopal, lutheran, catholic, mormon, adventist, etc. But you see that belonging to any church does not insure that you have been saved or redeemed (become a child of God). Many good people make professions or are baptized or follow some ritual set down by their church but none of these are hallmarks of slavation! Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 16:18? ....thou art Peter, aand upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail aginst it.... Many people misunderstand this verse. They think the devil cannot touch the church. This is wrong. The verse means that those who have been saved cannot come under the wrath of God (hell). Those who are not saved are still in their sins and will go to hell unless Christ saves them. You see there is no perfect or right church. For more info see www.familyradio.com.

I grew up in the Church of Christ. They will have you believe that they are the one true church. While that is the religion I prefer over all others, I don't believe that if you go to church that doesn't say "Church of Christ" on the sign that you're going to hell. Unfortunately, some in the Church of Christ do.
My wife is Presbyterian. I've gone to church with her. It seems they believe in the same God I do. What makes them so wrong?
I believe God knows what is in your heart. If you are truly devoted to Him and do what he asks, then you should feel comfortable about your destiny.

I do. I believe there is one right church. And many churches have diferent pieces of the truth.I also believe that other churches are very good for people. Just because other people aren't in this one right church, it does not make them bad people.

When Jesus Christ was on the earth He set up His Church (He chose the apostles etc...) After Jesus Christ and apostles were killed the true and authorized church that Jesus had set up was taken from the earth (this is called the Great Apostasy). There is a Church on the earth now that holds that same Priesthood authority...The true Church has been restored to the earth. The Church is: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"...I would encourage you to talk to the missionaries and to pray and ask God about it.

Yes! God's church! Not Man's church!

Matthew 16:18 reads,

"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." How many churches did he say He would build?

Ephesians 4:4 states, "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling." How many bodies are there?

What is the body spoken of here? Colossians 1. verse 18 says "and he is the head of the body, the church."

Ephesians 5:23 says that "Christ is the head of the church." How many bodies, or churches, is Christ the head of?

Yes. It would be the church where Jesus and everything He stands for reigns. We all sin and fall short but the difference is when we don't try to make a routine out of it. He forgives us when we ask. May God Bless
