What if the bus turned over and caught fire could you imagine a driver trying to unbuckle 30 or 40 kids.

Buses are very safe vehicles. occasionally, they do overturn, but in my 15 years of watching the news, the worst school bus related in jury I had heard of (child being on the school bus, not in front of it), was a broken collar bone.
The bus driver would not have time to unbuckle up to 75 passengers if they overturned. Every school year, school districts are required to review bus safety with the children.
On buses, the booster seat rule does not usually apply, unless they are really young. The seat is above there head, to prevent whiplash, and they do not need to be the shoulder height of the seat belt, because there isn't one. However, this should not stop you from using the booster seat in the car.
If she or he is small enough that they REALLY DO need a booster seat, the front seat behind the driver sometimes has one, but you need to contact the bus company.

i think of this is a sturdy thought. i do no longer think of it may take them too plenty longer to get off the bus than it does now. the babies could be responsive to their stop exchange into coming and have their seat belt undone long in the previous the bus got here to an entire stop. I additionally think of having seat belts on the bus could preclude all those babies from status up whilst the bus is going. on a daily basis when I %. my babies up from college we fallow 2 buses with the aid of city, and each and each of ways with the aid of city extra or less a million/3 to a million/2 of the bus babies are status in the aisle way or of their seat. Had that been my babies in my automobile dealing with city status up i could get pulled over and fined. additionally the only harm you stated exchange into demise. What approximately different attainable injuries that ought to effect from a bus accident? What if shall we are saying the bus exchange into in a roll over accident those babies could be tossed around like popcorn in a popcorn popper. broken bones, busted noses, concussion, etc all that could have been prevented with the aid of the undemanding use of a seat belt. and that i'm particular those injuries have occurred.

Yeah my wife was a school bus driver she took our kids on her bus she had to strap them both into a 5 point harness booster seat to drive the half mile to the Bus Depot then they get there she unstraps them and they climb into the bus with NO safety devices at all. Go figure.

I think it's a negligent over site that has gone on for way too long. How did they miss that one! Anyone who doesn't agree should view some video footage of an accident on a school bus (w/o seat belts. Not pretty.)

Seatbelt laws are revenue generating devices for city's and countys. They needed to come up with some way to make more money without raising taxes.
They are not for "our safety and protection" , as our lawmakers try to make us believe.
If seatbelts were that important to our safety they would be installed on school buses because those buses carry our most valuable resource.

My four year old nephew fell off a bus seat when the bus stopped short, luckily he wasn't hurt. He did learn though to hold on to the pole that's attached to the seat in front of him.
Hope that helps.

Buses are not like cars.... most people die in cars while very few ever die on a bus.
The biggest issue is not the seatbelt issue, but people in cars that PASS a schoolbus that is stopped to load/unload children.
Check the statistics on the link below:

Crash dummy tests show that it is an added disadvantage to place seatbelts in buses. I have to say I would go with what they say.
