I adopted a dog from hurricane katrina...is anyone looking for her?

How do I find out if someone is looking for their dog? I dont want to give her back..but would like to let them know she is ok and in great hands...

hi i like deedee answer but try to hit the whole south area that was affected. you can probably call the humane society down here and they can help you with finding a place that is helping replace the animals with their owners. maybe this can help

sorry i just tried calling and I guess since katrina they are no longer their so i remove them. that petfinder for katrina should be good i've seen those. well good luck; and thank you for taking one of those pets in

It is not hopeless i know people who are still finding their animals all across the country. It is great thay you took a dog in from katrina just a warning if it were my dog i would want it back

unless they have information where you adopted her i think it,s hopeless in finding there owners.

My suggestion is, if you adopt a pet that is from the
Katrina-hit area, take photos of it and post them everywhere
you can, with detailed descriptions of the animal. Try and
find an owner, if possible -- and be prepared that the owner
may contact you at some point. But if you can provide a home
and comfort for that animal in the meantime, I don't think
that's the wrong thing to do. Right now, these animals need
that more than anything, and I'm sure their owners would
agree.
