If it is done by an experianced vet and the after care is done properly then they should stand up.

With Dobermans ears, if you want them to be pointed, go to a vet clinic and have them do it for you cause it has to be done right and they put a certain something on the ears to hold them up until the stuff can be taken off. If I was you I would leave them floppy, just cause it doesn't look bad, and cause I don't have the heart to put the dog threw that pain. In the end it's all in what you want, but if your going to have them up, don't do it yourself plz.

you cant clip your dobermans ears, its needs to be professionally cropped by a vet. And no they wont stand up on they're own. But let them be down, they look just as cool that way. If you do it yourself it will look really retarded.

With that breed the vet has to crop them when you dog gets older. Just the croping does not make your dogs ears stand up you have to train them too. So he will have to look funny for awile with tape around the ears to teach them too.

I would leave them the way they are - they look better and less painful for Fido
