My husband had a terrible port a potty experience. Ton of small white worms (maggots?) crawled all over him and although he tried to brush them all off, some stayed on him until he showered that evening after work. Now he has red sores on him that spread. He's worried they got under his skin, any ideas?

they can bite and could probably leave red spots. When they bite, they inject a small amount of poison - deadly to small animals if they receive a lot of bites, but does't really do anything to humans. The "poison" would probably irritate the skin.

Do Maggots Bite Humans

maggots eat dead flesh, they do not eat living flesh. They can even be used to clean out wounds on people, they eat the dead skin and bacteria but leave the healthy stuff alone. I don't think your husband has anything to worry about from maggots however I have no idea what other type of bugs might be in a port-a-potty.

Eeeeks! Call the Dr. and see if he needs an antibiotic since they were in the porta-potty. Maggots are not leaches.
