You should be concerned with fruit with seeds. Seeds are dangerous for 8 month olds.
You can try a variety of fruits, but you must be willing to try the fruit, and not try any different ones for at least 3 days. You can feed previous fruits that the baby tolerated digestively.
Then check diaper for diarrhea, abnormal colouring, and diaper rash. These are signs of food allergies.
If you want to give fruits with seeds, just take out all seeds before giving to your child, or go to Babies R Us and buy the fruit/vegetable holder, which looks like a pacifier with a mesh bag on it. The fruit goes in mesh bag, and baby can squeeze out fruit by mashing without getting seeds. This works as long as your child doesn't have monster gnashing teeth that pulverize seed.
Good Luck!

Try feeding your baby a different one each week,at months old a baby is OK to eat all jarred baby food, try starting with bananas, or apple sauce.See lots of baby's have a hard time eating certain things, my baby so far only like sweet potatoes, chicken and rice, turkey and rice and green beans. She is also 8 months old. If I give her anything else she usually gags on it, and sometimes vomits. My father said if she doesn't like the taste then yeah she will get sick. So test it and if your baby's don't like it stick with what they do like.

Eight month old babies can pretty much have any fruit. Bananas sometimes causes stomach pain , adult applejuice is not okay and honey is a no no.

I wouldn't give them any fruit that has a high acidic content (pineapple, oranges, etc.) My daughter got really bad diaper rashes from those when she was that age.

Most all of them is fine, just not too many acidic, like oranges and grapefruit. Stay away from prunes though, Not a very pretty outcome...lol.
