I have a huge apricot tree in my backyard. I would like to turn the apricots into liquor. Anyone have a easy to follow recipe on making my own alcohol. I'm looking for something that just uses items that can be found around the home, nothing fancy.

10pts to the most useful information. =)

Use a basic brand of vodka, peel and remove the apricot pit. Drop the apricots into the vodka, seal it in a new container (mason jars work well) and let it sit for at least two weeks.

Any fruit that produces sugar can be fermented into a wine of some sort. Squeeze the juice into a 1 gallon jug and add 1 cup sugar and a package of yeast. Cover the jug with a balloon and set it someplace warm and dark. As the yeast eats the sugar, it will give off CO2 and alcohol. The balloon will inflate. When all the sugar is gone, the yeast will die off and the balloon will slowly deflate. When the balloon is limp, you have 1 gallon of fortified apricot wine. Basic distillation process.

i love the apricot infused vodka idea. think about preserving some apricots in brandy as well. for more immediate pleasure and assuming you have more fruit than you know what to do with, think about blending the apricots and mixing with champagne to make an apricot bellini. i have an apricot tree too, but it does not produce much fruit )-:

i think you should blend the fruit like a smoothie and just pour vodka on top and let it sit for a day in the fridge, it will be a nice drink for the next day!

do it the same way you make moonshine / corn wiskey...but not with corn...with apercots instead. There are lots of moonshine websites to tell you what to buy and how...I don't want to give you any instructions on this due to liablility and self-incrimination...
