The answers here that proclaim Jesus did not exist, was a myth, or that His words weren't recorded until hundreds of years later display the general ignorance most people have toward Jesus Christ.

His existence is evidenced in the Scriptures, as well as the writings of Roman Historian Cornelius Tacitus (AD 55-120) - The Annals, Greek Satirist Lucian of Samosata - The Death of Peregrine, Roman Historian Suetonius - Life of Claudius and Lives of the Caesars, Governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor Pliny the Younger in his Epistle to the emperor Trajan, Thallus (AD 52) whose writings are referenced by Julius Africanus' Chronography, Historian Phlegon - Chronicles, Mara Bar-Serapion (AD 70) in a letter to his son, the Babylonian Talmud, Flavius Josephus (AD 38-100) - Jewish Antiquities, along with numerous Christian sources.

In regards to when His words were recorded. Matthew dates between AD 70-100, Mark between AD 50-70, Luke between AD 60-90, John between AD 80-100. Pauls letters date between AD 50-100. The Qumram discoveries verified these dates. William Foxwell Albright, considered to be one of the world's foremost Biblical archaeologiests said, "We can already say emphatically that there is no longer any solid basis for dating any book of the New Testament after about AD 80, two full generations before the date between 130 and 150 given by the more radical New Testament critics of today."

Jesus Christ did exist. His words were recorded. His tomb is empty with no reasonable explanation outside the resurrection and He is coming again.

Just a short response to one of the answers against this questions, the first written account of the ministry of Jesus was the book of Mark, written in approximately 65 AD about 33 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus of Nazareth, who was the Messiah (Christ Anglified Christos from the Greek), was God incarnate on Earth, God as man by the Spirit of God and mortal flesh, Mary wife of Joseph.

This first coming of the Messiah was prophesied throughout the old testament.

Back to the original question, Alpha & Omega are teh first and last letters of teh greek aphabet. In essence what Jesus was sayign si that He was and is God incarnate adn was from the begiinign and will be until teh end, or immortal be He is God.

Actually, the Bible says that God is the alpha and the omega. He created his son, Jesus, then everything else through Jesus.
In response to wiregrassfarmer, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses we DO believe that God used Jesus to create everything as John 1:1-3 says. We have not inserted anything additional to this scripture, or anything else in the Bible. In fact, the New World Translation has actually put God's name back in the Bible where it belongs some 7,000 times, since scribes took it out due to superstition and replaced it with LORD.

Jesus is the son of God, an extenuation of Him. He is the first and the last because he is the only pure thing to ever walk to Earth. He is everything because everything was made by His Father, God, and it was all made for Him. He is what He says He is!

Yes, he did say he was Alpha and Omega, Beginning and End....that there were not before him, and that there stall be none after him. That would make me question eternity....how is he the end if all who go to heaven will have eternal life?

The Bible says everything that is created was created through Him and there is nothing which exists which was not created by Him. John 1.

Jehovah's Witnesses dispute this translation, inserting wording of their own which does not appear in any of the original translations. They also admit the wording they insert is not original and changes the meaning, but excuse this by saying "everyone does it elsewhere in the Bible."

Ask the Muslims, he a mere prophet..

Ask me? God needed to baptized by another human to be god again??? So who opened the sky after his baptism? Wasn't Lucifer?

Surely Satan already taken over heaven while he was on earth for 30 over yrs...
