I like the idea of a beer church.Where you just sit around and drink beer(or whatever) and talk about religion, politics, etc.I also heard about a church where the members smoked mary jane.Thats kinda appealing also.
Oh yeah, there's also no worshipping of any god.

I read this story once about 7 blind mice who went to see what this great elephant they had heard about was really like.

The elephant was napping as one found the tail & deduced the elephant was like a strong rope.
Another felt the leg & believed the elephant to be like a great log.
Another felt the ear & said the elephant was like a big fan.
Another travelled the from the belly over the back to the other side & came back saying the elephant was like a mountain.
Etc, Etc

The point is:
God is so grand & we are so small & blind in comparison. Our attempts to understand God will result in a little bit of insight from our own narrow perspective.

That is why I believe we have so many religions. Not one is "the one true religion" because each are based our limited perceptions & colored by our cultural & person history. But there is at least a grain of truth in pretty much every religion.

Will that really end the debate once and for all?
Don't you think if it was as simple as a milkshake asking a question and then deciding who was 'right', it would have all been done by now?
However, 'Looneytunes' is correct. This question is definately on the watch list.

To end the debate would undoubtedly be beneficial, but the fact of the matter is that it ain't gonna happen. The problem is that most everyone was brought up exposed to a particular religion, and religion does have its uses, but no religion can establish by evidence that its precepts are correct. (If it could, it would be science, not religion.) More particularly, every religious precept is irrefutable: there is no way to prove it to be wrong. But it can be proved that the predictive power of any theory obtains strictly from its refutability. It follows from this that, for predictive purposes, all religions are useless.

the word religion means to do over and over. Brushing ones teeth can be looked at as a religion. There is no one true religion. Beliefs are taken from one generation to the next. There is a FIRST, but not that one is better. The oldest was first. But when looking for the first, just be brave enough to except it once you find it. And the FIRST is out there...

Naturally anyone here will tell you that his religion is the rightoeus one...and thats normal....i as a muslim will tell you that islam is the righteous religion.....wait!..its not just because i'm a muslim its because that islam is the only religion saying that there is only one God to believe in and worship and no one shares with him his diety.....and that he created humans and is not a human.....i compared that with christianity and found it more reasonable because i think that the trinity talking and that God split himself into three and Have a son who is our saviour-i think that none of this make sense to me... if God is like humans and was crucified by the jews(as christians think)then how is he a god how is he a god and dies.........i believe that God is not supposed to die.......this talking is not straight.....no offense to christians this is just my point of view.....!
In the end what i wanted to tell you is that if you seriously want to follow a religion(as you sound not having a religion) then study or read about the most famous religions in the world and follow the one which you think is right and most reasonable.....no one will force you into something that you dont want...!
Believing in something is better than believing in nothing or no God.................
After you die then you will know if the religion you followed is righteous or not.............!
Dont tell me that i'm wrong and islam is wrong because osama bin laden bombed the world trade centre and killed innocent people or because al-zarqawi is killing innocent iraqi citizens!.............do not relate what extremist muslims do with what islam truly is............the true islam can be found in its undoubtful resources like the Holy Quran or what Muhammad(pbuh)said....
And i'm not a looneytoon...you are or will be a one if you continue to be shallow, primative and non-civilized......!
Peace......

There will never be a definate, agreeable answer to this question. The followers of each religion will argue on behalf of their religion. The one true religion, depends on the person to whom you are asking.

surprising news flash! there is no one true religion. especially among the popular exoteric offerings. popular religion is a hodge podge of agendas, greed and power mongering. the "books" are thinly veiled scripts to support the agendas. if you'd like to have a shot at "true religion" try any one that is esoteric in nature. they all have the same plan---very little babbling and murdering of infidels, and alot of meditation and perfecting of your energy body. esoteric? yes, like gnostic christianity, tibetan buddhism, sufism, kaballistic judaism, etc. energy body? check out reiki, tai chi, chi gung, yoga, etc. but nowadays, you have to even be careful with them , since they're gaining in popularity. whatever becomes popular often becomes mediocre and dysfunctional. check out www.sahajayoga.com--definitely helpful and not too mainstream. good luck

Religion is a set of laws and rules no man can live up to and therefore stays a captive. Jesus Christ is freedom!!!
He came and died to set us free of the bondages of religion. A simple childlike faith in Him,believe that He is and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
