We would like to hire a small villa for three or four people for a week in August 2007. A private pool is essential as is a fridge ! Most areas of Italy considered, but do not want to be too far from shops, restaurants etc

we used http://www.villavacations.com/ for our trip. the agency to book with was easy. the people we rented our villa from were super nice and we had a great experience. check it out and see, they have rentals all over italy.

i m an american, living here in italy, my bf works at a real estate agency from selling and renting villas or houses around the area of florence, generally in the country side. from what ive heard, usually villas here are huge i meant not settle for 3 to 4 people, but talking more for like 10 to 20. i mean if you go to an agency in italy and ask for a villa, they ll show you huge homes some yes with pools, others without and because of their huge volume, the prices are high. again it also depends on how much you are willing to spend?

usually here, after going in circles and getting to know the areas, ive noticed there are a lot of 'agriturismo'. which is practically homes or villas that provide kinda like bed and breakfast things for tourists and yes some have pools, some dont. the difference is that its out in the middle of the country side, and its more suited for people who love enjoying the outdoors. ofcourse you can always rent a car or take a train to the center of florence. the prices i dont know. but if your interested, contact me and i can ask my bf if there are really any small villas for rent other than the huge ones or if also he provides connections with these agriturismo areas.

let me know if your interested!

we used James.co.uk for our summer hol this year in spain, I couldn't fault them at all, villa was a good size and had everything you'd need and all their villas have pools. they definately have villas in Italy and personally I'd consider going with them again.
