I do not need tape or large removable media capability - SD card or compact flash or built in memory will do. I need something that can take a phono/composite or similar input. All the cheap models that I can find only have an A/V output. Can you think of anything or point me towards a product that I could use. I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks

The cheapest video camera you can buy would have to be the one made by TYCO called the "Tyco KidCam. I own one myself, I use it for surveillance and just messing around with. The mic on it is pretty powerful, can pick up whispers if pointed in correct direction. Get one for under $50.

seek for a cam that has a cold shoe adaptor to tournament the exterior mic. i choose to propose a RODE video mic. it fairly is a three.fifty 5 mm jack enter and runs on a 9v battery. trouble-free to apply and massive audio. there would not look many around so good success!

I think to get a/v imputs, you're going to need a camera that records to tape or DVD. You can get one for around 200 bucks.
