I mean you watch all these things on televison and you see islamic terrorist and extremist does that make you think less of it?

Islam is the purest of all religions. It doesn't say other religions can not exists, but Islam is the only complete way of life.

Unfortunately, terrorists and extremists have nothing to do with Islam, but CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX News, MSNBC and all jewish run media will have you believe Islam and the terrorists are the same.

I feel the extremists want Islam to be the only religion in the world. What the extremists are doing is ruining that religion for the true believers in Islam. The way these extremists portray that religion, its like they want to go back to the stone age. Religion and government should never be mixed together, that's why we have all these jihads and insanity. I hold nothing against that religion, but I do have issues with the people that are misinterpreting it to create hatred.

I think Islam was a fairly decent religion until approximately 1100AD when the gates of ijtihad were closed. After that it became much more insular and regressive. Of course, it is wrong, just like Christianity and Judaism are, but it at least had a strong intellectual drive until that point. Al-Ghazali was perhaps the main person responsible for the decline of Islamic science up to today.

As for suicide bombers etc. I don't see them as all that different than Operation Rescue folk that are willing to kill abortion doctors. All religions produce extremist nuts. Islam is just getting more than its share right now.

Exactly, you said "extremists". Not all muslims are like that, and most sane muslims are totally against the terrorism and all that. And it's not a part of our religion to kill any non-muslim, but EXTREMISTS think they're doing the right thing while actually they're doing the exact opposite of what Islam is all about. They don't know their own religion.

well watch other tv channels & you would see what the christian's do & the jews do in the name of religion as well...
all the religions are the same...
there are christians terrorists & extremists and there are jewish terrorists & extremists..
do you want to know about islam..read the quran & see what's it's really about..don't watch the media...or at least watch all the media..or go & ask one of the muslims who were born christians or any muslim who chose islam as his/her religion...
in order to judge something you should know about it..you said yourself that they are extremists!! in your own words you implied that this is not islam

The TV only portrays one side of things... Just because of what you see or hear on TV is not the way all Muslims are...you should gather all the facts and then make a decision..but that will never happen from people..too much work..and i think they get a kick out of being rude...My views of Islam will remain the same

stop looking at the media and seek your on true answers. Islam is peace and the submission to God. These terrorist are just people who happen to be Muslim. They are not a true presentation of what True Islam is about. True Islam is not miss quoted Islam

well, if you see the coin from the other side, and just refresh your mind back in recent history you will come out with divere facts;
In world war 1 and 2 more than 30 million civilians were killed, was it in the name of Islam. More in the discovery era of the new world ( north America) 25 million native american were killed, was Muslims responsible. Again look to vietnam, the neclear bombardment of hiroshima and nagazaki in Japan, needless to remind you of the colonial era and what had the Europeans made in Afric, Asia, North and south America, and the list is infortunately infinite...

if you just open your eyes to see further than your nose you will come out with the truth, so be objective before you accuse.

I think that Islam is the same as all other religions. I feel that Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are all very closely related. If we study our history we would see that Christians have killed many people in the name of religion too.

I think less of it.....

Why?
1. Mohammed did have multiple wives, and in fact, one of his "wives" was a 9 year old (Aisha).
2. It encourages it's followers to kill infidels.

"If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith." Sura 9:3

"Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme" Sura 8:39

"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits, for Allah does not love transgressors". Sura 2:190

"And slay them (the infidels) wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out, for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter" Sura 2:191

I don't know a lot about Islam, but just like any other religion, it has it's zealots. Those are the ones that are dangerous. There are many peaceful, loving people who are Islam.
