I would have him/her killed, put their body in a car, slosh about some rum and roll it off a cliff. Problem solved.

Nothing! Luckily, in the USA, we are entitled to our own opinion. Having an opinion is better than not having one. In the good ole' USA, no one has to be in "lock-step." We are the land of the free, home of the brave.

If you are unhapy, with their decision, don't discuss religion around them, it will only upset you, and in religious arguments, no one wins!

Depending upon the age of the son and daughter, they may change their mind many times during their lifelife. Don't let it become an issue. There are too many other things to worry about in this day and age!

Relax, chill out! If that is your only concern, with your kids, you're doing fine. It could be worse, they could be drug addicts, drug-dealers, car thieves, in a gang, in prison, or, like so many kids, missing!

Look at what is happening in the world today with religion. The best thing, is not to, discuss religion with them! Talk about what you have in common, not, what is different.

I would still love them unconditionally. I wouldn't like it but I don't know that there's anything I could do about it. And if there was, I'm not sure that I would. God calls each of us in His own way and time. If my son or daughter chose not to believe in God I'd feel sorry for him/her but I wouldn't force them to go to church or anything like that. I would still go and I would still celebrate the holidays because I still believe. Why would I care if their best friend is an atheist?

not much, I mean after all each person is entitled to believe whatever they wanna believe. I would probably tell my son/daughter my point of view and see what they thought about it..

(personally i think all relgious are trash, just a way of controlling the masses, but I do believe that something greater is out there God, some great energy, whatever you wanna call it)

Find out why. What needs they have to be one. Or at least tell the world they are one. And treat him/her as the individual they are, not place them in a pigeon hole that I need to have.
Same with anyone who claims anything spiritual about themselves.
To claim you are a car mechanic is easy to understand, they need to get business. To claim you are an Atheist is to get what? Support? Approval? An argument? What?

I would like to try to talk to them and get a little insight as to why they made that decision........ and then explain why I believe the way I do. You cannot force your children, or anyone else for that matter, to believe in anything. You can only encourage it and hope for the best.

Hand them a Bible-there are too many unexplained things in this world to not believe in God- Just look at the human body and how we're able to create life.....we're not machines that can duplicate ourselves, sperm, ovum and we create another person. The earth is another wonder to be marvelled- it sustains us, and also gives life. Man U can't help but believe in God!

My son is Christian and my daugher is Catholic...its their choice...if they felt that they wanted be Atheist or Agnositc or Gnostic...that is their choice...you can push your beliefs off on someone else..not even your children...I respect what they have chosen to believe in

Absolutely nothing. All of my friends are a different "religion" than I am. It's just not a priority on my list of things I look for in friends.
