We do. No country in the world takes in more immigrants than the US. No country makes more of an effort to accomodate other peoples language and culture. The current argument between congress and the senate centers around "illegal" immigrants. Some of us think it is unfair to those Mexicans who have followed the laws and applied for citizenship legally, to let those whose first act in this country was to break our laws, go to the head of the line. Compare our immigration laws to those of Mexico. If you were to immigrate to Mexico from another country you must have 40 thousand times the current minimum wage to invest, you may never hold any public office or public service job, (police, firemen, that sorta thing). Immigrants to Mexico may not own beachfront property. You may not participate in any public protest or criticize the Mexican government in any way. If you do you are immediately deported. In comparison the limitations on immigrants to this country are very lenient. I'm not saying it's easy, but that is by design, it should be difficult to gain citizenship here. That way only those Mexicans who really want to be a part of the U.S. can obtain it.

Your "loaded question" is false. Try, "Why don't some Mexicans who truly wish to become citizens integrate and assimilate like everyone else?" Answer that one......Thanks for the two-points pendejo!

That is the responsibility of the immigrant, I no a lot of Mexicans don't like to take responsibility for their actions, their are opportunities in this country especially if they are legal, if they are illegal why should we help a criminal that came illegally, immigrants that apply for citizenship already no English before they come, they no the history of America because they study for the test in English, and those are the kind of immigrants we want in this country, not law breakers that show no respect. It is their job to familiarize them selves to the countries language, laws, and customs not ours to teach them, but their are a lot of places to go to learn English, probably in their own country, I watch the news about the war in Lebanon interviewing some of the Lebanese children and adults, and they no English and they never leave their country, so it is the responsibility of the immigrant to learn especially it they want to make America their home and country. If they don't then go home.

Illegal aliens don't want to be part of America. Illegals have not paid their dues. Part of the dues is to speak English the way all the other legal immigrants have had to do. If they want in don't do it illegally, do the paperwork, learn English, then get a Visa. When I lived overseas, I didn't expect the people in that country to speak English. Instead I learned to speak that country's language.
Until everyone in America is an American without being a Latino, African, European, or Native there is no solution.

Because they broke the law. Why should they be rewarded for breaking the law. It's that simply. You want to come here, do it the proper way. Jumping the border is not one of them!
