She'll have to do one of two things: First and foremost, she'll have to change her eating habits and become active in some fashion. There is no "magic" potion that makes you skinny. It's an exchange of energy. You eat "fuel" and if you don't burn it up/or you get too much, you get fat. The second option: Gastric bypass. I'm all for this procedure. If you are obese (100# or more overweight) it's a great opportunity to use this medical tool to reduce your weight and prevent alot of complications later in life. It's not easy; and others think you are "coping out" if you get the surgery. Believe me, it saved my life. If you needed a heart bypass, you would do it wouldn't you? Why not a gastric bypass? Anyway, either way you will have to have will and dedication. You can encourage her by helping her shop and tell her how brave she is to try either one. Good Luck!
