When this has happened to me in the past, it has been the result of an ear infection. I showed no other symptoms, but when I felt pain and got dizzy while swimming, I checked with my doctor and, sure enough, ear infection. The doctors called it "swimmer's ear" and it has happened to me more than once. You may wish to consult a doctor if this keeps happening. If it turns out to be an infection, your physician can also give you advice on how to prevent them in the future. May God bless and keep you.

If you feel dizzy, perhaps you are getting dehydrated--drink plenty of water in the summer months! Other than that, I don't know.

Maybe you get water in your ears?
Use ear plugs.
