The question really is, how can a logical, rational, intelligent human being not see the obvious? That a God has to exists!

Your question does not sound entirely sincere with the lobotomy tacked on the end there. What is it you really want to know? Feel just a little insecure in your disbelief, maybe? But to answer how it seems to me, a rational intelligent human being usually looks to their own mind and heart for answers to life's deeper questions. Each person has their own inner spirit fragment of the original spirit creator of all reality available to their mind, that ought to be enough, but in addition to that we also have the Spirit of Truth available, "knocking at the door to our heart" as Jesus put it. An intelligent spiritual sort will look to both for guidance. Now that same person may or may not follow some Christian group for the sake of the company of like-minded souls, but what they are following is the spirit, not the human organization.
I hope this helps to answer any part of your question that may actually be sincere.

truly logical people can't be christian. i mean,,, unless they witness some ridiculous miracle that the odds are very. very against (which none of them have so far. they only witness things like sunsets and baby-births,,, things that are actually quite likely and therefore non-miraculous.)

you might know some christians who SEEM smart because of the job they have or because they are well spoken. these things have little to do with LOGICAL intelligence though.

also,,, you might meet some people who claim to be experts at math at science. odds are though that these people are actually pseudo-intellectuals. for example, just ask them what the odds are of rolling a 20-sided die and getting the number 3 every single time. a christian will likely tell you that there are no odds of that or rather,, that the odds are zero,,,, which is to say, it is not possible.

any real mathematician however will tell you that the odds are one in 20 to the one millionth power. this number is certainly a small fraction, but is NO WHERE CLOSE to zero. most christians however tend to think that if a number gets too high, that it just turns into infinity., or that if a fraction gets too low, that it turns into zero. a lot of their arguments are based on this pseudo-math. that's why they say stuff like "the odds of amino acids forming randomly are 1 in several billion. therefore it is impossible. therefore it could only happen with the help of god." ---- so if a christian ever claims to know math, just ask them that question.

but yeah,, to repeat the answer to your question, a truly rational person WILL NOT be christian.

I'm sure this isnt the answer you are looking for but........How can any logical, rational, intelligent human being not follow Christ? He is the way the Truth and the Life.

No logical, rational intelligent human being, if thinking logically and rationally, can follow any revealed religion since they are all clearly based on irrational nonsense.
However, many people are happy to switch off their brains to swallow the psychological pablum of comfort that religion purports to offer. Never underestimate the ability and propensity of nominally intelligent people to act stupidly.

I would ask

How could a logical, rational, intelligent human being NOT follow Christianity.

Unless maybe they HAD a lobotomy.
But then, they wouldn't be logical, rational or intelligent........so, never mind

No way. Christianity is troubling at a far deeper level than that which relates to ordinary people going to church or being pestered and annoyed by fundamentalists. Even at a superficial level, Christianity is irrational... and at a deeper level, it is quite insane.

Consider some of the 'inerrant truths' from the bible:
*  a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
*  solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) seperating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
*  talking snakes and donkeys
*  demons chased out of people and into pigs
*  friendly spirits
*  evil spirits
*  walking on water
*  multiplying loaves and fishes
*  people raising from the dead
*  stopping the sun in its tracks
*  parting seas
*  people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
*  world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
*  creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
*  magical tree of knowledge
*  god speaking from a burning bush
*  ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.

It is quite evident that in a sane world, if someone were to go around asserting that ANY of those things represented an innate 'truth' pertaining to the nature of existence and reality, that person would end up being locked up in the 'State Farm for the Funny'. Oddly, though, MASS insanity seems to convey some sort of automatic immunity along with it, since hundreds of millions of people assert ALL of these things to be true, and nobody thinks anything of it (well... SOME of us do). Not only are these people NOT locked up, but it is considered to be bad manners... politically incorrect... 'intolerant'... to even call attention to the obvious insanity of these ideas. Yet approximately 87% of the adult population of the USA is INFECTED by what seems to be some sort of insidious brain virus, that is transmitted in the form of information.

How can this NOT be seen as a major problem... considering that this insane belief system has been DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for such historical aberrations as the Dark Ages and such atrocities as the Inquisition, the Salem Witch trials, the Crusades...? (the list goes on, and on, and on.)

So, how is it that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders have come to represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH'... without the least bit of credible evidence?

let's look at it from another perspective.
How can logical, rational, intelligent human beings believe that the universe 'just happened'? That through purely coincidental means, stars just came to be, and just coincidentally established orbits, and planets just occured, with some of them ideally distanced and coincidentally stocked with all the building blocks of organic life. Which just happened to blob together in ever increasing complexiity until they just happened to produce homo sapiens--after presumably much trial and error--who then invented explanations for all this coincidence.
Consider how long it took man--in the identity of Darwin--to come up with the premise that we all evolved from one-celled organisms--through what means, he was unable to even guess. Give a thought, also, to the fact that Darwin recanted this theory before his death, and we're stuck being taught it now only because HIS disciples refused to accept that he'd rethought it.
I see derogatory reference in some of the answers to the Bible's prophecies--probably without any thought as to their possible validity. But let me give you an axiom, and a question--very simple. You think about it, and then think how best to answer your own question.
Axiom: The object of science is not to create, it is to observe, to theorize and thereby to discover the how and why for which it seeks.
Simple example: in the Bible, when God was giving the Hebrews the Laws governing their diet, He classed rabbits as ruminants. Like cattle. Bear in mind, this was thousands of years before Christ, before people even conceived of the notion of ruminants. It was not until the 1960's that science discovered this was true. How do you suppose those ignorant and unscientific nomadic people came up with this concept, except through divine inspiration?
Namely, from the Creator of this Universe.
Only consider quantum physics, if you want a really mind-blowing synchronicity!

They are taught not to investigate or question anything. Belief is easy when you don't read. As long as they feel they are doing the right thing, logical and rational thougths won't get in there way. Shoot, they've been told they will go to hell, that will get any children or weak minded people to believe "just in case". But it truly takes a lack of investigation to continue to believe.

use your gift of intelligence, to find the trinity within your self, this means valance your physicality, whit your mentality and your spirituality. So then you will not get sick.while you may believed to be rational, my only be a ration of what your spiritual entity may need, perhaps you need to become Catholic and instead of following your president in a political way, follow the pope in a more holly way. ANALYZE!!!!!!!!! BE GOOD BE SUPER RATIONAL. IN THIS CASE I MEAN BE A CHRISTIAN....., and forget me for been a trespasser, I am in debt with your soul. I got to go, I need to prey to God to forgive me, for this sin. <<>> thou I am politically correct, to my knowledge, you ask the question so, I gave you my answer. thank-you.
