I read a lot on here about those that claim that people want to come to this country but 'they applied for citizenship, and were turned down'.
I also read about the claims of the illegal who is escaping opression, starving, and so on.
The USA has, nearly always, and still does, have special classes for asylum.
Political, religious and racial opression are 3 of the reasons.
People who do not have money, do not have money! SO they cannot possibly pay the 'Coyotes to sneak them across!
the VAST majority of illegals are young, single (or so they present themselves) men, who just want to become RICH in their home lands. They want a new Hummer not an old Nissan!
NOT feeding their starving-to-death wife and kids.
Look at the stats for those caught, it proves this out.
take a step back. take a deep breath. look at the facts and forget the rhetoric the newspapers pump you full of.
draw a chart, whatever, and SEE the truth!

I WAS the immigration specialist for both of the welfare offices that I worked in.
When we had immigratioin officers come in to our office, I actually had to correct them on several occasions. I had many books of the immigration codes and laws and read them completely and when they came , ill-prepared, I had to instruct them!
So I guess you can teach me a thing or two, eh?

I went through the entire legal process for immigration with my wife. I had to enlist the aid of two US senators, because the immigration department did not comply with the law.
So now you will say, see they have to come here illegally because immigration does not comply with the law!
WRONG AGAIN!

I never insinuated that they pass out asylum like candy. Of course, proof is needed.

I happen to have seen, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico, MANY driving Hummers and Cadillacs and such, BRAGGING how being ILLEGAL made it all possible.
Telling others what a Joke the USA is. they are GLAD that the Mexican economy is bad. That way they can come and go as they please, making a mint in the US and coming back to Mexico, and living a luxurious life and NOT WORKING in their own country.

Systemic abuse of our legal and immigration systems have led us to where we are today. Reform is important, and even more important is that the Senate stop trying to sidestep their real job. Let's see the border fence up, border patrol doing their job, handouts cancelled, and voters at the polling booths in November!

What you say is not completely true in this town. My father who has a Christian ministry with illegals which are detained at the border patrol before being sent back, tells me otherwise.

The vast majority are poor as you say and are men. They are from small towns all over Central and South America and Mexico. They ONLY come here to seek a better life, not to become rich.

Most have no education and only seek low skilled work. Some are fleeing political oppression but this govt. will not give them asylum, even if their lives are at risk. Some have lost loved ones to oppressive govts. and no, they don't get political asylum.

They have no agenda, only to come here and work. Most have families at home and they want to send money back to support them. Where are you getting your source? Some right wing propaganda news agency?

People who cut in line and break laws should be sent home. If the concerns are as you say, then change the laws. If I broke into an amusement park and cut in line for the roller coaster what would happen to me if I said I was poor? Exactly the same thing that would happen if I was rich, I'd be thrown out and be lucky if I wasn't charged with a crime. I don't have to read the newspaper to arrive at this truth. It is self-evident. I believe I understand a lot better than you do.

Living in San Diego, I'm acquainted with some illegal Mexicans who work in the fields. They don't give a darn about a Hummer. They do send money back home, though.
But I will concur that there are the unsavory, criminal minded illegals who come here to deal drugs and prostitution and whatever. These are the ones I want caught and will not hesitate to turn them in.

While I have not verified the voracity of your "facts," I do indeed agree that not having money should not be a basis for asylum, unless the poverty is caused by some sort of oppression. Even so, there are still legal means of seeking asylum. May God bless and keep you.
