You no longer obey the dietary laws, nor "remember the sabbath day and keep it holy" and etc.,etc.

So why the genital mutilation of your male children?

PS: At what age do you begin to feed your children the blood and flesh of your god?

Xians? Do you mean Christian? What a lazy way to write it - like Xmas - WTH!
Anyway, I'm Catholic and we did not circ our son. The supposed health benefits were not convincing enough to me to cause him such pain after going through the trauma of being born.

Actually, Jews still obey the dietary laws. As for remembering the Sabbath Day, I can only hope that most people do. We don't "feed the flesh and blood of our God to our children", we teach tham why we take the Passover and hope that they come to an acceptance not only by reason of our teaching, but through God affecting their consciousness. Circumcision a token of a covenant he made with Abraham, promising that he would become father of a large nation (Israel). Why God chose such a method, I can't say, but covenants weren't made to be broken, so I suppose that this is why it's still honored among mankind today in many areas.

1) Xians are under the law fulfilled.

2) Circumsion is an outward identification of an internal occurance. Having your heart circumscized of sin

3) not all Xians practice it.

4) the purpose of Christ was to forgive us for our mistakes i.e. IF i break a law Christ paid the price.

5) We do remember the Sabbath why do you think the weekend starts at dusk Friday. We just added a second holy day to the Sabbath.

6) The symbolic jesture was never of canibalism. It has several layers. First, rememberance of the Great teacher and friend in sharing a meal. Second, Remembering the sacrifice made for your salvation. Third, the taking into you the pressence of the living God.

I think that those who get circumsized now (well, parents choose to do that) do it either because they believe that they still need to do it (they believe some of the OT laws still apply) or they do it because it is easier to keep a baby from developing an infection from bacteria that could build up under the foreskin.

I thought this would provoke some further thinking on the subject of the OT laws (from Romans Chapter 3):

19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

Righteousness Through Faith
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
27Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

Because they like chopping parts of naughty bits off of little children?

And it's easier than teaching them how to properly clean themselves.

I thought the answer would be obvious. They're lazy! XD (Actually, if I recall correctly in some places it's state law...)

i think for a lot of people it's a sanitary issue. some kids end up getting infections, etc. also it's a cosmetic issue - some women don't like the uncut.... and don't you think he'll get made fun of in the locker room?

It's hygenic. As the world shows, men that are not circumcized are crazy lunatics that are blood thirsty.
