honestly, if it is within your means. take him/her to a beautiful place. Like Niagara Falls, or to a mountain's top, or to a tropical island... show him how big the world is, and how humans could not have made niagara falls, or the sun set with a beautiful color... he will see that there has to be something greater out there...
But dont punish for questioning God either, it isn't bad to do that...
Also, educate him to OTHER religions, what they believe, how they believe, etc.. a theology class may be a good idea, just to show him what else is out there.

Everyone has hardships in life, and you should not expect or want a life witihout hardships. Some of the greatest people you could name endured the greatest hardships. While questioning His existence could lead you to not believe in God, I don't think it is possible to have a true belief in God, if you don't at some time or another in your life, questions His power and existence. Whenever anyone tells you to just believe and not question what you are being told, then you had better start to question it.

questioning the power of God and his existance isn't necessarily a problem. there are many decent humans out there who don't believe in God or just don't know because there is no proof. help him deal with his hardships - help him fix the problem and maybe the symptoms will go away.

GOD does not change your life. GOD leads you to change your life, yourself. GOD did not cause this teenagers problems nor will GOD remove them. So what good is GOD? You are hear to experience life. GOD is available to guide you. The problem is, religions teach you to pray to GOD. That's OK as far as it goes but it don't go far enough. Praying to GOD for help with your problems is like going to the school nurse, telling her your problems then walking out of her office. Learn to sit down and listen. How? Learn how GOD speaks. You know that "gut feeling" you get? How often have you ignored it only to realize later you should have listened. Listened to whom? Learn to listen by practicing.

Tell him to reflect back on everything that has gone wrong in his life. And tell him to look for God in them. I know now that the times that I thought I had turn away from God I was unsuccessful. God was with me the entire time, and I believe that if he looks back and see how he survived those troubling time he will see where God was, right beside him. I know that's where he was with me and still is.

God is a marriage of Divine Love and Divine Wisdom. God has no part in evil and sin but uses it to teach the difference between what is good and what is evil.

That is very good. The best thing to do now is th ensure that the teenager gets the critical thinking skills that will enable him/her to see through the insane delusions which comprise the dogmatic beliefs of 'revealed' religions.

Be a good listener and be supportive. Offer suggestions of different paths they could take to find the answers they seek. Don't push in one direction or another. It's something they have to find for themselves. maybe find them a book on losing faith or suggest they speak to priest or someone froma a non denominational church. I have found they are very helpful without being biased or overly pushy.

Find a good youth group for them to join. Being surrounded by other positive teens with faith in God may help. Kids listen to their peers often more than adults.

girl everyone goes through hardships in life but just in different ways, do not give up on your faith in the Lord because in the end, HE will be the only one there to protect you, love HIM and HE will love you, turn your back on him and he will turn HIS back on you sometimes the things we go through seem unbearable but do not forget GOD does not allow you to go through things you cannot handel "what won't kill you only makes you stronger" this is not the best way to think of things but there are many of the people in that world that are going through problems that are 20x worst than yours ie. children in Africa that live in poverty-be thankful for your blessings and ask GOD to help you overcome obstackles-HE loves you, i love you so stay strong...remember the devil is very strong too so things that happen to you that are unpleasent may just be him playing tricks on you and he wants you to give in and loose faith, but don't, stay strong and you will rewarded-GOD BLESS
