Tell him you are not interested because a family member liking a family member is just wrong. It's a no-no.

Are you related to him by blood? If so, and you two hook up and have a kid, he/she will be crosseyed. And you don't want that.

First of all, if he is a second cousin or further away, a relationship with him would be legal. However, you should keep in mind that society has a very strong taboo placed on incestuous relationships, even if the relative isn't close.

Technically, there is nothing "unhealthy" about an attraction to a family member. It is considered so by our culture because incest is considered very wrong. Certainly incest with a close family member can lead to very bad consequences, such as horrible birth defects if you get pregnant. The psychological drain from attempting such a forbidden relationship would also be terrible for you.

I would advise not pursuing a relationship with a close family member. As they say, there are plenty of fish in the sea, and eventually you will meet someone who makes you forget all about this situation.

Having these feelings in and of itself does not hurt anyone, so don't beat yourself up over it. But if you are really concerned, or if you feel like you can't resist pursuing a relationship with him, I would reccomend speaking to a therapist or psychiatrist. If you are in school, one should be provided for you for free. A professional therapist can help you address the situation a lot better than any stranger on the internet ever could.

hopefully you like your family members, at least...lol, i know what you mean, watch how he acts around other family members, if it seems like the same kind of 'flirting', then it's no big deal, it's just the way he is...but if he's not acting the same, and is special around you, take a chance and hang around when everyone else is out of the room or something, ask him why. if he says he's not flirting, you just have to say that what he's doing comes across as that. Manipulate you're girl self and get him to talk about how his is feeling. Maybe he thinks you are flirting with him. If He says he sometimes flirts, or (without saying the exact words) tells you he likes you, remind him that you are family...unless you are disanly related, (like 5th and up cousin couples are allowed, 1, 2, 3, 4 aren't.) then you just found yourself a new boyfriend! celebrate!

hes a family member you can't go out with him!! If he's been flirting with you thats just wrong. You guys are supposed to love each other in a family way not in a relationship way. How close of family are you?

A family member? Exactly how closely related (blood-line) are you to this family member? Brother, cousin, nephew, uncle - ?

One removed? Twice removed? 5 times removed?

Its one thing to be directly related... Uncle, cousin, nephewm brother.....

If we didnt "mingle" with relatives exactly how would the world have become populated? Adam and eve had two sons.... Cain and Abel - where did the rest of us come from?

Its another story if you are related but long lost cousins - Check and see and then decide!

You need to make an appointment at the nearest mental health clinic if you are remotely considering engaging a FAMILY member in a more that familiar sense! That is just WRONG!

There's nothing wrong with loving a family member unconditionally, but this flirtatious thing isn't right, because he's part of your family-not someone who would run into all the time. You should talk to him about it, and set him straight!

Find someone else to set your sights on. Family members should not be involved with each other.
