I was wondering what the price for average food and beverages are in Chile, Peru, and/or Argentina. Things of particular interest are in the headings but also a pizza, 2-minute-noodles, a bag of apples, and a fancy(ish) dinner out.

I have recently spent a good while in said countries, I am not sure what nationality you are but to make things easy I'll put it in US dollars. Chile is the most expensive, then Argentina then Peru. The thing is I am going to have to generalise because prices are far cheaper in rural areas in these countries than the big cities. Bread and Milk are about the same in all of these countries, no more than 50 cents. Beer is also about the same from 1 to 1.5 dollars, (you have to pay a small deposit on the bottles, which you get back on return of the bottle). Coke is about 50 cents. Pizza is popular in Argentina and is very cheap, UGI's do one for 2 dollars! Chile and Peru is a little harder to come by and will be more. Fruit is cheap everywhere and a dinner out will cost maybe 8 dollars plus in Chile, 6 dollars plus in Argentina and a little less in Peru. Variations can be extreme though, if you eat what the locals eat you can eat out for far, far less. It is an experience to eat out in Chile and Argentina both have amazing food, the meat especially is excellent and cheap.

Cost Of Food In Peru

I'm not so sure of the price of food in those particular countries but I can tell you that the cost of food in all of Latin America is pretty low (that is if you are American or from another country the people living there consider the prices to be a bit high). When I went to El Salvador my mother bought eggs, milk, and bread for less than $2 and 6 of us would go out and eat dinner for under $10. Prices of course vary because of quality of restaurants and such but are not too high. Food won't cost you more than you normally pay at home for sure so if you want to be safe take as much money as you spend for food at home and that should be more than enough.

well i think colombia, venzuala brazil peru are somwwhat dangerous depending on how you look at it. colombia still has the cocaine war going between farc and the government,as does venezuala borders with colombia, and peru and brazilian borders with colombia, the transpost lines amazon and the wildlife, but interesting places. personally i tend to lean towards colombian cities bogota, cartagena baranquilla, thye seem to have brought some control over the situation, then caracus, cities in brazil seem well situated and a little more laid back except the jungle areas. there is always belize on the yucatan
