well, we are moving from Florida ( where it is hot and congested!! ) to Minnesota with our three kids. we have been researching Minnesota for about a year now and have compared it to Florida. in Minnesota the crime rates are way lower, the cost of living is lower, the real estate prices are lower. we have done research on Arizona also ( we thought about moving there ) and it seems that the real estate, cost of living, etc., is the same as Florida. so, i vote for Minnesota! its alot more relaxed and a better environment for children to grow up....i think :) good luck!

Why are you limited to those two states? It's a big country and there are many beautiful places to live. AZ is just too hot for humans and pets. Why Minnesota instead of a state that is closer to Arizona, like Colorado? It would be easier to travel to visit family from Colorado. Consider all your options before moving.

If you can handle the snow, Minnesota is for you. If not, Arizona would have to do. But look at the cost of living and jobs before you make a choice. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Spent many many years and moves going back and forth on this issue, am currently preparing to move back to family after being gone for seven years... It is good to be away and on your own so that you learn to take care of your own life without checking everything out with family. You gain variety in your social life. It is good to experience differing environments. However, then people get born, die, you miss out on family events, pretty soon all you can think about is getting back to your family. I have done it both ways and I'd have to say there may be no right answer. It may be like taking a shower, first a little more hot then a little more cold...

Tough decision - you need to also look at cost of living, housing & convenience to airports or other vacation places you like to go to. What about jobs & schools?
If it's just a decision on location: I would go to Arizona, I prefer the heat and love deserts.

I'm orginally from Wisconsin and now living in Texas. Yes, Minnesota is a very beautiful state, but what made me move down south is, I hate cold.
