I have a Canon Powershot and I love it. It has many phot type options and a battery life that is ammazing. I have used other cameras and none have I enjoyed as much as my Powershot. I have many family and friends with powershots as well and they agree.

Canon Powershot series...

If you have bigger budget upto 800... go for canon digital rebel.
