Your either/or question has options too similar to include both. "Dress to impress" OR "make guys jealous." That's just no good.

Either way. Dress like you're going to be out where people will see you. Comfy in sweats? Then sweats it should be. DO NOT, however, go out in sweats then grouse the night away about how you wish you'd dressed up a little more. That's what'll put your guy off.

Also give some thought about what you'll be doing and where. Do you look crazy-hot in a bikini? In Minnesota during a blizzard you'll just look crazy. Rock climbing today? That little black dress might have to wait.

Just how far out of your way did you go with your wardrobe earlier on in your relationship? The most important advice would be that you be (and look like) yourself from day one. Fur boots and a British Officer's hat might have been fun at the club when you met, but it'll get mighty boring after a year or two.

And, as a man, I bet he could give a flip about your clothes anyway.

Personally I like the natural look. I don't like a lot of make up, frilly cloths, mini skirts, hot pants, or any of that jazz.

Oh sure it's nice to dress up on special occasions. Classy is usually the best. If it's the bedroom that's another story.

I don't want my girlfriend as a showpiece to make other guys jealous. That's just silly, dumb, and at best looking for trouble. Just be yourself. If the guy doesn't like you for who you are he's not worth your heart.

I think its up to the girl. Personally, I love my girl being dressed to impress, cos she looks gorgeous, its not trying to get the others jealous, its just nice seeing her looking really really good!

well... if i'm going out with her i'm feeling pretty lucky. and i tend to like my gal in comfortable clothing. so if SHE wants to dress to impress then that is fine by me. i kinda like knowing other guys are jealous of who is with me. but if she likes to be in faded and relaxed clothing... i don't care... since i'll still have eye's only for her. at which point i'm silently laughing at the fact that other guys don't know how lucky i am to have her.

but hey, if i had to dress her... she's be wearing a tank top and jeans most days... especially in this weather! (and it doesn't hurt that it's kinda hard to look bad in those clothing too :P)

I think that you should be yourself and dress for the occasion. For example, if you are going to an event that calls for dressup, then dressup. If you are just going out, dress however you feel. Your man should accept you as you are and not because of the way you dress or look.

Thats the only way it will last. Because only then she would know for sure that I am with here because of what she is and not for how she looks/dresses.
There are girls to impress all around. Its not a battle she can win.
