There is no rationale answer to that question. I believe God has his reasons though we will probably never understand them. If heaven exists (like I believe it does), is it so bad for a child to die? I know it is painful for the family because of the loss, but the child would be in heaven and not have to suffer through life in this messed up world. So, who actually has it better....the child who lives a normal life and has to experience the ups and downs all through life or the child who is rescued and lives in a paradise where there is no more sickness, pain or death?
Looking at it from another angle...Is it God's selfishness and greed who does not provide the medical knowledge to these 3rd World countries or it is mankind's? There is enough medical knowledge in the world to reach these countries, but, for the most part, these doctors will not go to these places because it is inconvenient or they know they may have to do it for free. Some of the governments will not allow others to come in and help these poor people because of power issues or arrogance, or whatever their reasons may be. Is this really God's fault?

Like everyone's said, God didn't cause that to happen, human fallibility and sin did. It's completely unjust and wrong - and it means that good people of all faiths have a lot of work to do. What can you do to help that child, or if not that child, the children in your area? Can you join a Big Brother/Big Sister program? Can you become a foster parent? Can you volunteer at soup kitchen and teach your kids to do the same?
We all need to work to a better world, and sometimes the unfairness and cruelty can become crushing. But if we all keep working toward good, then all the bad will crumble under the weight of our good works.

God didn't do that....man did that. the reason things like that happen is because of man's sin. God doesn't bless unrighteousness. Every person's situation is different.. You don't know if that child's family lives uprightly before God. You can't say, "God please heal my child," and then turn around and start cussing, and drinkin, and doing all the things that goes against who Jesus is, and then expect Him to bless you.
That's why America is the way it is. The reason why "God won't bless America" is because America stands for everthing that goes against His Word.
The Bible says in Psalms 34, that "the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His Ears Are Open Unto Their Cry. The face of the Lord is AGAINST them that do evil..."
All people have to do is make sure that you're in right standing with the Lord, and He will have nothing but to do than to bless you and heal your children. Then you'll find that his grace, mercy, and kindness, are just to get you through your circumstances. God Bless.

As long as we keep blaiming "God" for our problems, instead of realizing that they are our own fault, we will never reach maturity as species.
What happens to mankind is the fault of mankind, for f*cks sake! You can pray to God all you want, but at the end of the day, children will keep dying from preventable diseases unless we change the unfair economic system we are living in, a system that maximizes short-term profits for some over long-term profits for all.
Want to fix it? Me too. So lets pull our heads out of our asses and try to do something about it, instead of sitting around and blaiming abstract entities.

It is unfair for us to put the responsibility for this somewhere else, i.e. God.
This is really about Human Rights. Which is the resposibility of all mankind.
Check out this website if you would like to take some personal responsibility for "what is happening" here on our earth.

The poor child was just not lucky. Some of us are lucky and some aren't. It's all random. There is no god in charge of the universe, and if there was, he certainly wouldn't be worth worshiping.

Why are you blaming God.
