it is easier for females to cotract the aids virus, plain and simple

Same as the others, there is transfer of fluids, and men generally give more fluids to women than female fluids accidentally flowing into that little hole.

I don't think the number of female prostitutes is a factor since the number of male customers is bigger. So if prostitution is the reason, I think more males would have been infected than females.

The major cause of HIV/AIDS transmission amoung women in southern (read DEVELOPING) nations has more to do with womens rights and lack of proper education than anything else. Many UN studies have shown and proven that the problem is that women receive little to no representation since many of them have been forced since a young age to take care of families of siblings that have been orphaned due to this terrible disease and are unable to attend school. Another problem is the violation of the rights of women, many of whom, under law are unable to refuse their husbands (some of whom may be as much as 20 yrs their senior since women are married at extremely young ages in some countries). The sex trade does play a role in this epidemic, since many MEN are users of prostitutes and the use of condoms is sparse due to inadequate provisions and education. This is not a biblical issue, God has nothing to do with this disease and neither does the gay community since the major incidents are in poorer countries such as Malawi, Tanzania and Swaziland where almost ALL transmission is through heterosexual contact. This is a simple case of inadequate aid being provided by the richer countries in this world (the US being one of the worst BTW) to the people that need it most. I urge you to read more about this terrible and unnecessary decimation of the human population and to help the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Really? I don't know about it

Logically female ratio is bigger compared to male...so I think it goes the same way with the aids victim

Because women are the receivers. Men can be a carrier of HIV but a women will contract if faster because of this. I know for a fact because I have facilitated many classes on this subject and my cousin died of aids and her man is still alive twelve years later. Women are the ones who receive sperm, men don't receive anything on the insides of their bodies. Our bodies tend to hold on to what is deposited in it, like babies and disease. Be safe sister's and have your man wrap it up. Yes a man can get HIV from a women but it will take over a womens body faster.

This question has many answers. I am not an expert, but I have my speculation on the subject:

First, there are more women than men in the world, generally. So, there is bound to be more females than males affected by such a wide-spread gender unbiased disease. (I, for one, would like to see what percentage of women out of all women compared to percentage of men out of all men have HIV/AIDS, the numbers may show that a greater percentage of men within the male population have it)

Second: Are you familiar with "men on the DL"? So many women have unprotected sex with their husbands and boyfriends w/o knowing that they are bi-sexual and, it is a commonly un-said fact that 63% (this is a 2004 statistic from a high school event I attended, so you may want to check it out) of the HIV/AIDS population is constituted by bi-sexual/gay males. So, if that man is cheating with another man and the woman is having intercourse with him she runs the risk of catching HIV.

Third: Cheating women with cheating husbands will cheat with another involved man and then he will pass it on to his girlfriend and so-on.

Fourth: People always want to experiment, esp. heterosexual males with ANAL sex....if the man is cheating and has the virus, ANAL sex is a sure-fire way to catch it from him....for some reason, the virus is contracted easier through anal sex than through vaginal intercourse.

Fifth: ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember that Statistics show you what the WANT to show you....never believe that HYPE, and try to do YOUR OWN research. (for example: they state that around 20-sumthing % of all new cases of HIV/AIDS are African American Women aged 16-25.....that is a true statistic but WHO IN THE HECK ARE THE OTHER 70-sumthing % of new cases???...never believe the hype!)

I suspect, that due to the fact that most cases of HIV have been transmitted through sexual intercourse, that females are at a higher risk to sustain rips/tears in their private part during intercourse, therefore allowing a greater risk to get infected.

Men are stupid and DONT TELL PARTNERS they have AIDS. Then there are women that enjoy having alot of UNPROTECTED SEX. Women protect yourself always insist on men wearing condoms. Women don't ALWAYS ON RELY ON YOUR PARTNER TO PROTECT YOU.
