I hope I'm misunderstanding it, but the manual says that only windows 98 & 98SE users should install the USB Driver. Does that mean I can't use the camera with my windows 2000 computer? If not how do I?

no you can use it. That means that Windows 2000 will use its default system drivers (USB Drive most likely) to "see" your camera. Plug it into a USB port with the power on and your computer should find it an install the driver. If it wants to find a driver simply point the install wizard to "C:\windows\inf" for the drivers.

Win 2000 and WinXP come with a set of standard drivers, including USB, that eliminate have to load special drivers for most peripherals.

Your camera should connect fine to the computer.
