I'd like to go on holiday with my girlfriend in late August/ early September for 2 weeks - it will be our first holiday together. We're both in our early 30's. Would love to go somewhere that has good weather (maybe a beach but not essential), somewhere with history/ culture, perhaps somwhere with sites of significant historic interest, somewhere beautiful and romantic, maybe with good food/ restaurants/ bars. We both enjoy walking/ playing golf/ tennis. Could even be to a particular region as don't have to stay in the same place, but could move around.

Tunisia, it's boiling hot this time of year, lovely beaches, camel treks, ideal for a first holiday for a couple like you. There's lots of old Roman ampitheatres there too and vibrant market stalls and shops with all kinds of interesting things to buy.

In a nutshell, brilliant.

Have a good time!!!

If you're American, European, Asian then the best place will be Southern Africa, Namibia (I'm a Namibian) or South Africa. You can choose Namibia, Swakopmund (SWK) and Walvis Bay (WB). This 2 coastal towns are 30 km from each other, on one side of the road is the beautiful Atlantic ocean and on the otherside is the Namib desert golden dunes. You and your girlfriend can do quad biking on the dunes and walk across the road to the ocean. Its the same area where Angelina Jolie spend during her first born in this year. Don't worry, with the power of the US Dollar, it will be cheap for you and you'll spend time in the African sun. South Africa, Cape Town (CT) is also a very nice destination, you'll never get bored in CT, and the people are also friendly, I've spend memorable time with my girl in CT.

The Canary Islands are identified to be the sun hub of Europe! See this sun with hotelbye . Canary Islands provide a mild temperatures and a range of outstanding natural attractions. Five of its seven islands have already been stated a Biosphere Reserve, and the archipelago has four national parks. Probably the most outstanding attractions in Canary Islands will be the beaches because they are only great for soothing in the sun or experiencing water sports such as for example windsurfing and scuba diving. In Canary Islands you will also be impressing by the inner attraction like: climbing, pattern touring, climbing and also caving. Some of the very most magnificent attractions of Canary Islands are: the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote, the beaches of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria making use of their sand dunes, or the green woods of La Palma and La Gomera.

I would consider a cruise. If you were to go to the Carribean, prepare for tropical weather. They have fantastic food, literally 24-hours a day. They have bars, usually a couple. Some of them have gambling. You can walk around the deck as much as you want. Of course, there are pools for swimming. There is also shuffleboard. They have movies and dancing. They go to places where there are historic sites on most islands. It has almost everything you want in one package. The scenery is fantastic too.
