my boyfriend has a problem with lying. he has cheated on me in the past and i forgave him. now he keeps on trying to regain my trust but he still has a problem with lying. he thinks i can't handle some things so he lies. this is not what i want him to do i want to be able for him to feal he can tell me anything. he lies about simple things like he's going to dinner or the movies whhen he really wants to go out with his boys. wha tshould i do?

You need to tell him that he doesn't need to lie to you. It's not about what you can and cannot handle, it's about being upfront and honest even if it hurts the person's feelings sometimes. I'd rather my man be honest with me any day and hurt my feelings rather than lie to my face all the time. He's not trying to gain your trust too much if he has to lie about small things like that. Your relationship won't work if you continue to let this go on. You need to make this clear to him. Tell him if he wants to go out with his boys then tell you this. He needs to know that the only way of earning your trust is to be upfront. Whether you want to trust him or not once he goes out with his boys is up to you, but he doesn't need to lie about it. If he continues this after you have told him the relationship will defintely be very unhealthy. You don't deserve someone that lies to your face all the time. He cheated on you and you forgave him, but you don't need an add on like this either. Talk to him kindly but make your world stern so that he knows you mean business amd that you won't be telling him again. I hope things start looking up for you.

He actually does not have a problem with lying. He does have a problem with telling the truth. And you have a problem with being gullible and passive. He couldn't be trying to regain your trust by continuing to lie - that doesn't make sense. He's just a liar. Now why would he change what works? He can cheat and do whatever he wants and keep you hanging on with no consequences. What guy wouldn't want that deal. I guess you deserve to be lied to and cheated on and long as you go along with it.
I suggest you ALWAYS use condoms, Girlie.

Well, he's done it for so long he can't help it. Some people just think that they will hurt loved ones is they tell the truth. What you should do is talk to him and make his realize you can take the truth no matter what. When he does tell you the truth you must also be accepting and not become so emotional because this will deter him from being honest with you.

I would break up with him. There are so many good guys out there who are single and waiting for a chance to find a good person like you.
I would definately break up with him. Why would you continue dating him? Surely you wouldn't want to get married and have his kids!

give him two options, either he gets help for his lying, ie. therapy or he loses you. I have been there done that, the lying never stops, you deserve more. Good luck and don't settle.

this one is hard cause i would like to know myself... i can say he knows he has lost you trust so to avoid further disappointment in him from you just becasue he does not tell and you don tknow does not mean your not hurt by it. It hurts that he does not trust you enough to just be honest!
