im young and I don't want to do to much to my body and go on like a starving diet because I'm not willing to put my life on the line for a good body. I'd rather be fat than dead. How do I stay heathlt, but lose the weight that I need to?

You're young, and your body is still growing. Instead of trying to lose weight, you really should try not to gain weight. Unless you're 3 feet tall, you aren't so overweight that you should really worry. If, however, you're concerned with impressing your peers, focus on your grooming and wardrobe for now. Learn to dress in ways that are flattering to your body, instead of focusing on trends.

In the meantime, do what every kid--and every grown-up--should do. Walk every chance you get (join a sport--you'll be active and make friends), and eat a balanced, healthy diet. Your pediatrician will recommend a diet for you. Good luck.

It's rather dangerous to be 136lbs at 13years of age (unless you're 5ft 10inches or taller).
My suggestion is to do two things...
- eat more healthy food, meaning less ice cream, cheeseburgers, etc and more vegetables and salads.
- change your lifestyle to involve more physical activities such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, do a lot of daily walking (about a quarter mile each day, then increase it to half a mile after a couple of weeks, etc) like going to the park.

Generally, anything that'll involve more physical activity will help you lose weight faster.

Hope this helps.

Eat lots of fruit and veg. You also need plenty of protein at your age. But you don't need a lot of starch in the form of simple carbohydrates, such as pizza, pasta, bread, rice and cakes. If you get enough protein and vegetables you won't feel hungry, and you'll get healthier. You'll lose weight too, that's a bonus! I lost 14 lbs in two weeks recently doing the above.
You'll get enough carbs to keep you healthy in your vegetables.

Eat 5 times a day, but small portions (non fatty foods), that will make your methabolism work faster and you will lose the weigth. You are young so you don´t need to put your self on a diet, insteed try to eat small portions, and do not eat junk food, or too much carbs.

Wat sort of food do you eat ? you dont need to starve your self to lose weight - just eat healthier
cut out - greasy food - sweets - take away food
have one day a week or fortnight where u let ur self eat these foods but dont go over the top

Regular exercise for 4 or more days a week
for 30 minutes to an hour ( an hour is better)

I would suggest eating healthier, smaller portions and excercise. However, if you can, check with a doctor or dietician first to see what diet and exercise program is best for you. Good luck.
