Any mold can potentially make you ill. Even common molds like Aspergillus (found in lakes) and Penicillium (food mold) can be toxic and cause serious respiratory and other problems in those that are susceptible.
But the grandaddy of all toxic molds is Stachybotrus Chartarum. It is considered to be one of the most harmful types of molds that exist. It is black and slimy in appearance and is often found in the basements of homes that have had water damage (such as persistent leaks or floods) and it's difficult, if not impossible, to get rid of it.

I'm not really sure but I think the black mold is the worst. It was found in the Business Building of the university I attended and that building was evacuated. It took them over a year before classed resumed there.
