Because doctors are expensive and often not very attentive. And it's almost imppossible to go see one unless you have insurance, which alot of people don't have. Even if you do have it, there is usually an amount you have to spend before your insurance even starts kicking in and always some kind of payment involved .... and after those insurance payments, who can afford to pay the doctor even more? I won't even bring up the price of the prescriptions the doctor is bound to prescribe!

People of scared of the unknown and would like to get some information before seeing a GP.

The internet is a good forum for discussing health issues, but it does not and will not replace a face-to-face consulation with a trained medical professional.

Good question. They probably think that they can get an answer without having to go to the doctor.

I think they may feel their complaint is not serious enough so want to be reassured that going to the doctor is the best course of action. I do agree with you however.

perhaps they are looking for help, a lot of people fine doctors intimidating and if you happen to live in America the cost of medical insurance is scary, don't be judgmental not every one is silly

because they want to know(from people with experience) if its worth going to the doctor for. it costs so much money these days so you can only go for emergencies.
