Because they are not the same. And differences in religion, appearance, ethnicity or just about anything else seems to lead to violence. A shame especially if you consider that most of these religions claim to spread peace.

1) The belief that all religions are different versions of the same true is know as Religious Pluralism, which some people believe.
2) The belief that one religion is absolutely true while other religions have some truth in them is called Inclusivism.
3) Many people believe that their religion is the only way to God, Truth, Heaven, etc. See Christianity or Islam. This is known as exclusivism.

Your first statement is not a fact, but is your opinion which I personally disagree with. As to why is there so much hate? My opinion and belief is because of original sin where both Adam and Eve sinned against God (not the place to start bashing women because she gave man the apple, he chose to eat it too.) As a result, mankind is born into sin and has a sinful nature which manifests itself as distrust of one's neighbor, covetousness of anothers posessions, quick anger, no patience, and a myriad of other shortcomings.

As another aside, while Christianity falls into the my God is the only way category, it also teaches Christians to regard others as better than oneself, to love others (not just other Christians), and be concerned with other's welfare (even on a global basis). Unfortunately, becoming a Christian does not mean that one no longer sins, and frequently, Christians come across as hypocritical because they do not demonstrate the missives by which they proclaim all should live.

Any religion which teaches to hate others probably no longer has any relationship to the religion upon which it was originally founded.

There is my opinion, that and $3.69 will get you an overpriced cup of joe.

I would suggest a course in comparative religions. Or at least a good book on it that describes many world religions (like a dictionary of World Religions) which is available in your public library. All religions are not different versions of the same truth. If nothing else, these websites may prove helpful:

I wish there weren't so much religious hate in the world. I feel that it may be fed by the religions who feel that their particular religion is the one and only "true" religion and that everyone else needs to believe as they do.

Because VERY few people actually follow the faith of their choice. They claim it when asked, but it has little to do with their day to day lives. In their minds, the "truth" makes them better than others.

Humans are hateful creatures by nature. It is not an easy matter to overcome hate... probably why most religions focus so much on love, peace, and hope. Our hateful nature often chooses to put the blame on god.

You have a slight misunderstanding. All religions are NOT different versions of the same truth. All religions are cultural and geographic differences in the definition and worship of god. All the gods are ONE god. Humanity makes it all different.

The truth is, if you could manage to collect all the "truth" about who and what god is from every known and historic religion and put it all in one place, it would still only be about one hundred billionth of a percent of who and what god ACTUALLY is.

Let's see here, Jews believe in the Old Testament and that the Messaih has not come yet, Baptists believe that He has come and are waiting for the second coming, Muslims believe in the Kran, Buddhists believe in Buddha and that each livingthing has a spirit, not neccesarily God, Mormons believe in a prophet that isn't the one true God, so waht ais this one truth that you are speaking of? People believe in evolution, that isn't a ruth except unto one's own, but that doesn't mean everyone hates each other. Hate is that is within us that happens if we don't have G-d. we can still have those feelings if we believe and trust in G-d, but if we have him in our hearts, he can help us curb those feelings. Hate is a human nature thing. It's human nature not to like someone that isn't like us-that's different.
This is one of those questions that has so many answers that will vary, and a subject that is one that has been a heated ebate for awhile now.

All religions are NOT different versions of the same truth. There are major differences between Hindusim, Judaism, Islam, Christianity, etc.

Someone who says that "all religions are the same" just hasn't even taken a cursory look at these religions.

Christianity takes the works part out of the equation. in christianity it is only by the grace of God that you know you are saved. because you don't have to be a perfect person you can be assured of your salvation.
Every other major religion that I have studied is based on works, if you are a good enough person you probably will get into heaven. this leads to anxiety because under this system noone is ever sure that they are truly saved.
In my opinion, people from other religions hate christianity because only christians can have that level of confidence. As for christians, anyone who is truly living the christian life does not hate other people of different religions but will want to try and let people know about christianity out of love.

U can already see, UR question itself being answered in so many ways...
Know why?
they r responding with what they have been taught right from the childhood.
for ex, if from childhood someone is taught of his religion and simultaneously to respect other religions, ths situation would not have arised.
To worsten the situation, certain powers dont mind rowing seeds of hatred between different comunities!
Politics, Media and no doubt WE are all responsible!

If you were locked up, in the same room with a bunch of people JUST like you. Dont you think eventually you'd start to fight? the smallest difference could become this huge event causing certain people to take sides and opose others.

my personal belief is all religions' foundational aim is to lead humanity into harmony, peace and happiness. Hate is created by arrogance and vanity in believing MY peace is better than yours and MY hamony is more harmonious than yours, so I am gonna GIVE you my peace/salvation whether you want it or not... Vanity is the devil's favorite sin as mention in the movie - the Devil's Advocate starring Keannu Reeves
