Instead of deporting the illegals let them stay. Make it a law that Landlords had to check for green cards or immigration papers before renting to them. And fine the hell out of them if they are caught doing it. They cant draw any forms of goverment help till they become legal. Fine the hell out of anyone who hires them without first checking thier papers. Make them pay to send their kids to school like we do every year. Make it so hard that to survive here they have no choice but to go back or become legal

Heres The Problem

Us "ANTI ILLEGAL ALIEN" Types
Are More Accurately Described As
"PRO LAW ENFORCEMENT"

We Want Our Laws Enforced

And You CANNOT SELECTIVELY ENFORCE The Laws
You've GOT To Be Consistent When It Comes To The Law
OTHERWISE
You Leave Loose Ends
And LOOPHOLES
For The Next Generation Of Lawbreakers To Exploit

The ONLY Way To Be FAIR
To The Millions Of Immigrants
That LAWFULLY And Honestly Became Citizens Or Residents
And Consistent In Enforcing The Law
Is To DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS UPON DISCOVERY
Then THEY Can LAWFULLY And HONESTLY
Become Citizens Or Residents Too

Your theory has some merit. But how would the law enforcement people know that john public down the street hired and illegal to construct a deck? The cops don't have time to stop every person they see to make sure they have a green card. Not to mention, if you allow them to stay, for even a short period of time, they could possibly birth a child here. That child is then a citizen of this country... then the parents get to stay because you can't force them to give up their child. I'm not sure there is a way to end the immigration problems. When we deport them, we pay for it. If they stay, we pay for it. In the long run, deporting them would be cheaper then allowing them to stay and take up our jobs, assistance, housing. Hopefully someone comes up with a real solution to this problem soon.
You question was a nice thought. Even possible if we had the means to do so. Unfortunately, we don't.

I agree. We need give heavy fines and maybe even arrest employers of illegal aliens and those that will knowingly rent to them. (Assisting in a criminal act?)

I also think that laws should be changed so that children of illegals born in the US will NOT be US citizens, but considered illegal.

I think this would stop SOME traffic of the illegals coming here, and SOME would leave.

As far as the illegals who remain, we should give them the opportunity to stay, but they have to earn it.

There should be a CONDITIONAL amnesty offered.

They must learn basic English.
They must learn some American history and culture.
They must be financially dependent, i.e., either employed or have a financial sponsor.
They must swear their allegiance to America and be signed up for the draft. (Within the draft eligibility guidelines)
They will have a FELONY conviction on their records so they can never posses a gun or vote, even if they become citizens.

They must do this within a time frame, such as 1 year. If they don't, or at least show effort after the time frame, they will be deported.

This will only work if we protect our borders. If we keep allowing them in, it's just a waste of time!

I own three condos and I know at least 2 of my tenants are illegals (once upon a time). First of all, I never knew the nicest and hardest working people in my life. They always pay their rent on time. Very respectful. I had no problems for the last 8 years they are with me. Secondly, these are my properties. The GOV or INS didn't buy them for me. I used to be illegal (once upon a time) but Iike everyone else who came to the US for better lives - I works very hard to attain them. Boils down to, I can rent it to anyone I think fits to stay in my properties.

We have enough of GOV involvement in our lives. Giving them the authority to what you suggest is just plainly sad. For a person like you to suggest that the law should get involve in my business is purely stupid. The LAW shouldn't be involve - it's non of they business.

The town of Hazelton PA just passed a law coming down hard on anyone who rents to, or employs an illegal. That is the way to go. They will leave on their own then.

Of course, they are already being sued to have the law overturned because the ACLU and that racist group La Raza doesn't think its nice.

Can people be any more racist!!!! We are talking about people here, not things!!!!! You are so ignorant for asking this in the first place!!!! How is coming into the United States without a Visa a crime?? Can, crossing the border for a better life, really be compared to murdering somebody????? You people have to think before you say ignorant things like this....

I couldn't agree more, but we also need to change the law allowing all children born here to automatically become citizens. This would help eliminate them coming here for that reason. I wish the government would get off their butts and do something. Great Question.

No. How fast do you want to give up your freedoms and rights to another country? If you think wages are bad now, hold on. Any amnesty is total amnesty and today is 12 million next it will be 120 million demanding that Mexico govern over us.

All good ideas in basis.
Several of those "employer" catagories apply to me and I already make sure with whom I am doing biz before we proceed.
The illegals (I'm assuming as no one has admitted this status to date) usually don't come back after you ask the question, "Are you in this country legally?"
