I am an American who has been teaching ESL classes in Japan for 20 years. A couple of years ago, I visited my father in Maryland and saw several ads in the paper for ESL teachers. The qualifications varied: some places wanted native speakers only; some required a Masters degree in ESL. Friends on the west coast (California, Washington) have told me that the same situation applies there.
So the answer is: Yes, there are ESL jobs in the US. BUT there may be qualification issues you need to take care of first.
