a couple of questions here...
firstly, is it a good idea to stay awake as long as possible and try to burn off as much as possible? it might not burn much off but it might speed up the metabolism over night... is this wrong?
secondly, the next day i know it's ideal to have breakfast to get the metabolism going again... but what if i significantly reduced my calorie intake to VERY low to allow my body to continue to burn off whatever energy was consumed the night before... is this also wrong?

During sleep, many of your body's cells regenerate. So no, it's not a good idea to deprive yourself of sleep in the name of burning calories. When you stay up too long, the body looks for calories for energy, so you end up hungry (which often leads to binging). Try to get in 45-60 minutes of cardio a day, plus 30-45 minutes of strength training 2-4 days a week on nonconsecutive days. Muscle burns fat, but fat doesn't burn fat. Therefore, the more muscle you build, the more fat you will burn. If you are a woman, don't worry about getting too bulky because it won't happen. But if you want to keep your muscles small and tight, make sure you do enough cardio to support your strength training.

If your calorie intake is VERY low, your body will feed off of its muscles to keep alive. Calories aren't the enemy. Calories=energy. If you skip breakfast, your body won't "burn off whatever energy was consumed the night before." Eat a balanced diet that includes lean proteins, fresh veggies and fruit, and complex carbs and your body will know what to do. If you are a woman who is moderately active, aim for 1400-1800 calories a day. Don't go any lower.

If you choose to deprive yourself of sleep and calories, more than your body will suffer. Your mind won't be sharp and you'll get cranky. Everyone you love will have to put up with you and they won't be happy about it.

get on a balanced diet. you're messing up your body and not doing any good to it. if you aren't taking in the nutrients your body needs, it's going to pretty much eat itself. eat less fat and smaller meals more times throughout the day to keep your body using fat for energy and not your muscle mass. sleep as close to the same amount of hours every night as you can(at least 5) and eat. you're going to make yourself sick in the long run if you keep up what you are doing. do at least a 1/2 hour of cardio every day not a bunch all at once and never binge eat
