IN Atlanta is correct. The Old and New Tesament were written by numerous authors who had the same theology over the centuries. We have thousands of manuscripts found all over europe and some parts of asia and africa that attest to the validity of the scriptures. We also have the Dead Sea scrolls which again prove that what we have in the Bible has not been corrupted.

The Koron is the poduct of ONE author at ONE moment in time who claims that the Bible was corrupt...and only he could rewrite it correctly. there are some similar stories in the Koran which parallel the Bible, but many of them completely contradict the Bible and the Biblical God. Both Jews (who accept the Old Testament only) and Christians (who accept the Old and New Testaments) wholeheartedly reject Islam as an apostate religion. it is a divergence from what the bible teaches. Paul made the statement that even if an angel from Heaven came and offered another message, we should reject him (Galatians 1). Moses said that if a prophet came speaking another message, then he should be stoned to death (under the old covenant).

Mohammed is a false prophet who taught a false religion.
God help us see the truth in Christ, who was crushed for our sins. May we accept the sacrifice of this lamb of God that we might have unearned salvation forever!
Amen.

The bible and the Koran are linked.
The Old Testament and the first part of the Koran are almost identical.
Both Moslems and Christians have the same religious roots.
Moslems acknowlege Jesus Christ, but to them he was a prophet, and the greatest prophet is the one who came approximately 400 years later, Mohamed.
The Koran does not follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, But does follow the laws laid down by Moses, and the 10 commandments given to him by God. All these are in both the Christian Bible and the Koran. Allah is the god of all who follow the Jewish based religions, he is just called by other names.
The main objection to the Christian religion by Moslems is that Christians appear to worship 3 Gods, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, whe we are told in the commandments that there is only 1 true god.

No way the the Koran Quotes the bible but you never find where the bible quotes the koran, when you are the truth you need not quote anyone. The bible and the koran are different one is the truth which is the bible and the other is a lie which is the koran.

No the Talmud has been around for 2000 years before the birth of Christ the New Testament was written between 60 - 100 AD the Qu'ran had adulterated texts from the Talmud and other parts of the Old Testament. The Christians and Hebrews both worship the God of the House of David - the Muslims worship some pagan God invented by muhammed who was nothing but a plagiarist to fulfill his own dreams of self-elevation.

BUDDHASMASH had a concise and intelligent answer.
I want to add that the bible and the koran are both a collection of writings/folk stories written down at some point by people, and passed off as the word of god.
Truth, legend, and actual history are so mixed together, a person could spend his/her whole life trying to figure it all out.
Personally, I have better things to think about and study.
I hope you do, too.

I am fairly ignorant about Islam, but I know that the Old Testament as we know it is (I think) part of the Qu'ran.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam all stem from a common cultural source. Judaism originated the Torah (the first 5 books of the Bible) and the Prophets (the other books, like Malachi and Isaiah), then Christianity added the New Testament, then Islam added the Qu'ran.

That's why you'll see that Moses, Adam, Abraham, etc. all come up in Islamic writings.

Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet of God, but that Xtians misunderstood his message, and that he isn't the Messiah. They believe (I think) that the Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) is THE prophet, sent to correct and "solidify" God's word to Man.

Muslims, please correct me! This is just what I have picked up from Muslim friends and some reading of my own!

Yes, The Holy Bible and the Holy Qur'an are both linked in many ways.. As per the Qur'an: the Bible is through Jesus (aka Prophet Isa) and the Qur'an is through Prophet Muhammed.

Both religions base on the same human moral rules. For a person to understand the link, they have to go through a thorough study of both religion. And research does not mean you have to believe in it and/or your opinion counts.

When I read the Talmud (Jewish Holy Book) I realised Judaism does not know Jesus Christ. Judaism hates Jesus Christ. They consider him the anit-Christ and they are waiting for their Messaih, however,Islam recognises Jesus as a phrophet and believe in all His miracles, the Virgin Mary is a sacred Virgin in Islam, while the jews consider Jesus to be a bastard,I was shocked by the comparison,Christianity is Closer to Islam, many verses in the Koran praises Jesus and the Virgin Mary, the jews, however, are considered "traitors" to the prophets and they are no longer the chosen ones, true followers of the Holy book of Islam have to respect Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Christianity because Jesus is considered to be one of the Holiest prophets of all time,Mohammed preached that to his followers, the more i read, the more i discovered the strong similarity of the three Holy Religions, there are verses in the Koran explaining how the jews tortured Jesus. Few people know this because they do not carefully read their Scriptures and because of the great pains which Jews have taken to deceive the Christians. Shocking resemblance, try to buy a Koran in English,I did,you will be surprised....................
