i've been doing pilates for awhile now and ive seen some change but is it good to tone your body

yaeh. pilates can tone your body.
they can make you look younger and sexier.
keep it up.

It is designed to develop the inner, core muscles (such as the psoas). It is not designed to change the shape of the external muscles that are visible on the surface of the body. May be some changes there but that's not the point of pilates.

Not exactly..Pilates are essentially streching exercises like Yoga..If you want to tone your muscles, you will have to do some strengthening exercises..

Well, I don't think pilates do much good. My boss has done them for a year, and till weighs 180 pounds. Not saying that she's fat, but it hasn't helped her. But she LOVES to say that she is excersizing.
